7 GIU 2023 · *Trigger Warning*: We discuss topics around disordered eating and death in this episode.
In this episode, I interview my friend Libby Chamberlin. Libby (she/her) is a civil servant living and working in Colorado, deeply committed to using the tools of public policy to make life better for all of us, especially marginalized and low-income individuals. She loves trail running, yoga, climbing, dancing (generally moving her body outside!), being queer, and creating connections and fostering community wherever she goes. These days, Libby has more questions than answers and values the opportunity to sink into deep, reflective conversation with people from all walks of life -- or sometimes just her journal.
We chat about the following topics:
- How your 30s differ from your 20s: Reflecting on lessons learned, newfound confidence, and self-evolution that comes with entering your 30s.
- Disordered eating: Exploring the challenges, emotional aspects, and healing journey associated with our relationship to food.
- Early aging & mindset: Chatting about mindset around aging in our culture & shifting perspectives to celebrate the beauty and wisdom that comes with it.
- Radical acceptance of self: Letting go of self-judgment and caring about what others think nearly as much as we did in our 20s.
- Setting boundaries with others: How boundaries can actually bring you closer in relationship and are beneficial for yourself and others.
- Impermanence and death: Exploring how embracing the transient nature of life can bring a deeper appreciation for the present.
