In this episode, Neil McDonnell looks back at how the HUBZone Chamber (now GovCon Chamber) pushed $3B to HUBZone small businesses in 2018.

This initiative successfully turnarounded a 20 year decline in the SBA #HUBZone program. The same is possible for the SBA's women business program

Women-owned small business contractors will succeed by:

1. Using specific language to push for more contract opportunities set aside for #wosb competition
   
   
2. Organizing strategic 'competimate' set-aside calls to radically increase overall responses to RFIs
   
   
3. Shift from blaming government to taking responsibility for strategic business development and responses to RFPs

Women should be winning more federal government contracts. In 2022, there were 12 million women-owned small business and 85000 were registered to sell to the federal government. Unfortunately very few are winning contracts – far below the minimalist 5% SBA goal.
