Story Transcript:

Uk: Львів стояв на порозі весни. Вулиці, засипані снігом, починали показувати бруківку, обрамлену краплями розтанулої води.
En: Lviv was on the doorstep of spring. The streets, covered in snow, began to reveal the cobblestones framed with droplets of melted water.

Uk: Саме цього дня Катерина та Микола вирішили влаштувати традиційний український застілля, зібравши всіх скільки влізе місцевого району у своєму старому стравинному будинку.
En: On this particular day, Katerina and Mykola decided to host a traditional Ukrainian feast, inviting as many locals from their old culinary house as would fit.

Uk: У застільному провулку всі були задоволені і веселі. Катерина з розумінням дивилась на Миколу, який, сміючись, висував післюшки своїм гостям.
En: The guests in the dining alley were all happy and cheerful. Katerina looked on understandingly as Mykola, laughing, entertained their guests.

Uk: Раптом же, посеред веселощів, в будинку відчувся стриманий холод. Кожен відчув це, але ніхто не звернув уваги на це особливо.
En: Suddenly, amidst the merriment, a restrained chill was felt in the house. Everyone sensed it, but no one paid much attention to it.

Uk: Від раптового перевороту подій на усіх гостей спала мовчанка. Тишина втупилася в святкові пісні, звуки срібних штифтів на дерев'яних столах та линули вище зазубини крику. Було почутно доносання пустотливого полтергейста, який, здавалося, роздоллявся в цьому будинку.
En: The sudden turn of events brought a hush over all the guests. Silence mingled with the festive songs, the sounds of silverware on wooden tables reverberated louder above the laughter. The eerie echo of emptiness was heard, seemingly haunting the house.

Uk: Микола був першим, хто взявся за справу. Він став на центрі кімнати та обійшов навкруги стіл. Із стола піднялося коротке шипіння. Всі замовкли. Зморшки на Миколиному лиці заглибились , а очі напружено спостерігали за темним кутком кімнати.
En: Mykola was the first to take action. He stood in the center of the room and circled the table. A brief hissing sound emanated from the table. All fell silent. The lines on Mykola's face deepened, his eyes fixed intensely on the dark corner of the room.

Uk: "Ми не боїмось тебе, духе!" - через декілька тривалих, напружених секунд він висловив ці слова.
En: "We are not afraid of you, spirit!" he uttered these words after a few tense seconds.

Uk: Було почутно зітхання, а віддаліка віддзвенів м'який хрипкий голос, "Але ви повинні..." - і відразу ж зник. Проте, холод також втратив свою яскравість, а атмосфера стала більш нормальною.
En: A sigh was heard, and from a distance, a soft raspy voice echoed, "But you must..." and then vanished. However, the chill also dissipated, and the atmosphere returned to normal.

Uk: Катерина, яка напівмирно спостерігала за все цим, піднялась із стільця. Вона підійшла до місця, де Микола стояв зціпенілим і незграбно.
En: Observing all this half-serenely, Katerina stood up from her chair and approached where Mykola stood tense and awkward.

Uk: "Нам варто продовжувати вечірку", запропонувала вона з м'яким посмішкою. Всі присутні здавалися дещо обережними, але після того як Катерина знову запалила світла і розпочала музику, вони повернулися до їжі та розмов.
En: "Let us continue the party," she suggested with a gentle smile. The guests seemed somewhat cautious, but after Katerina rekindled the lights and started the music again, they resumed eating and talking.

Uk: Так, несподівана зустріч із полтергейстом додала емоцій до цього застілля. Проте, це не зламало духу Свята. Навпаки, воно лише зміцнило почуття дружби і товариства.
En: The unexpected encounter with the poltergeist added emotions to the feast. However, it did not dampen the spirit of the celebration. On the contrary, it only strengthened the feelings of friendship and camaraderie.

Uk: В кінці вечора, Катерина та Микола, втомлені, але задоволені, подякували своїм гостям за участь і привітали їх із новим днем.
En: At the end of the evening, Katerina and Mykola, tired but content, thanked their guests for their participation and wished them a good day.
