Pl: Na ulicach Warszawy, w wiosenny, choć chłodny poranek, Anna i Kamil spacerowali, eksplorując miasto. Solą tej ziemi byli od wielu lat. Pasjonatami dnia, nocą śniącymi o prywatnym muzeum, które mogłoby przybliżyć turystom tajemnice polskiego pochodzenia i kultury. Tuż przed nimi, widziano grupę cudzoziemców, którzy wyglądali na zdziwionych. Powód? Trudno byłby go nie zauważyć. W każdym oknie cukierni, na każdym straganie, w rękach przechodniów, dominował jeden produkt. Pączki.
En: On the streets of Warsaw, on a spring, though chilly morning, Anna and Kamil were walking, exploring the city. They had been the salt of this land for many years. Enthusiasts of the day, dreaming at night of a private museum that could unravel the secrets of Polish origin and culture to tourists. Just in front of them, a group of foreigners was seen, looking puzzled. The reason? It would be hard not to notice it. In every bakery window, at every market stall, in the hands of passersby, one product dominated. Paczki.

Pl: Zauważywszy zdziwienie turystów, nasza para postanowiła wyjaśnić, dlaczego ten dzień w Polsce wygląda tak, a nie inaczej. To był dla nich znak, że ich misja ma teraz szczególne znaczenie. Kamil podszedł do grupy i w swym najlepszym angielskim zaczął przedstawiać tradycję Tłustego Czwartku.
En: Noticing the tourists' surprise, our couple decided to explain why this day in Poland looks the way it does. It was a sign for them that their mission was now of special significance. Kamil approached the group and in his best English began to introduce the tradition of Fat Thursday.

Pl: "W Polsce," zaczął Kamil, "ten dzień to... dzień pączków! Koniec karnawału, ostatni dzień, kiedy możemy zjeść coś słodkiego przed postem Wielkiego Postu. Dlatego wszędzie widzicie pączki."
En: "In Poland," Kamil began, "this day is... the day of paczki! The end of carnival, the last day when we can eat something sweet before Lent. That's why you see paczki everywhere."

Pl: "Post? Ale dlaczego pączki?" zapytała jedna z turystek.
En: "Lent? But why paczki?" asked one of the tourists.

Pl: "To część naszej tradycji," wyjaśniła Anna, dołączając do rozmowy. "Pączki są symbolem obfitości, szczęścia. A jeść je w Tłusty Czwartek, to zaproszenie do pomyślności na cały rok."
En: "It's part of our tradition," explained Anna, joining the conversation. "Paczki symbolize prosperity, happiness. And eating them on Fat Thursday is an invitation to good fortune for the whole year."

Pl: Najwyraźniej to wyjaśnienie przekonało grupę turystów. Z uśmiechem na twarzy, ruszyli w kierunku najbliższej cukierni, aby sami spróbować tych słodkości.
En: Apparently, this explanation convinced the group of tourists. With smiles on their faces, they headed toward the nearest bakery to try those sweets themselves.

Pl: Anna i Kamil poczuli satysfakcję. Moment ten utwierdził ich w przekonaniu, że ich marzenie o muzeum, które pokazywałoby inność polskiej kultury, ma sens. Tłusty Czwartek w Warszawie miał w tym roku dla nich wyjątkowy smak. Nie byli świadomi, że ta ścieżka, którą podążyli, całkowicie odmieni ich życie. Ale to już inna historia...
En: Anna and Kamil felt satisfaction. This moment reinforced their belief that their dream of a museum showcasing the uniqueness of Polish culture made sense.
