As the world looks on in horror, we must not forget the decades of history that have brought us here. Israel has held Gaza under siege for the past 17 years, sealing off 2 million people in an open-air prison. At the same time, Israel’s democratic institutions have eroded and mutated into a theocratic fascism. Israeli filmmaker Lia Tarachansky joins The Marc Steiner Show to discuss this history and her recent article reflecting on the war.
