Thousands of Palestinians in Gaza have suffered life-changing injuries and amputations, many of them children. But surviving is only the beginning.

In this episode I am joined by Rasna Mantha, founder of the Vancouver-based Universal Limbs Foundation, and certified prosthetist Saja Amro about their work supporting injured Palestinian medical evacuees.

They explore prosthetic care, trauma and rehabilitation, psychosocial support, research into 3D-printed prosthetics, and what it means to help people rebuild lives disrupted by catastrophic injury, displacement and loss. A conversation about technology, dignity, recovery — and the difference between wanting to help and actually being useful.
