Story Transcript:

Uk: Львівське сонце світило радісно, бо сьогодні велика подія: весілля Ольги та Юрія.
En: The Lviv sun was shining brightly because today was a big event: the wedding of Olga and Yuri.

Uk: З весього міста прибули гості до міського замку для святкування.
En: Guests from all over the city arrived at the city castle to celebrate.

Uk: Але раптом у міру того, як весільний гамір набирав темпів, сталося невпорядковане: нібито щось зникло у нареченої.
En: But suddenly, as the wedding festivities were gaining momentum, something unexpected happened: it seemed that something had disappeared from the bride.

Uk: Покинута на паркеті лежала лише одна святкова туфелька.
En: Only one festive shoe lay abandoned on the dance floor.

Uk: А де ж друга?
En: But where was the other one?

Uk: Іван, кум Ольги та Юрія, зразу ж пропонував взяти справу в свої руки.
En: Ivan, Olga and Yuri's best man, immediately offered to take matters into his own hands.

Uk: Вони збрали швидку зборову раду.
En: They gathered a quick emergency council.

Uk: Давай, казали вони, шукати туфельку.
En: Come on, they said, let's search for the shoe.

Uk: Не може ж таке діятись на весіллі!
En: Such a thing can't happen at a wedding!

Uk: Що ж, не було часу на згайбу.
En: Well, there was no time to waste.

Uk: Всі вони рушили до пошуку.
En: They all set off in search.

Uk: Перший знайшов квітку з підв'язки, а в ній запис: "Що знайдеш, те й твоє".
En: The first one found a flower from a garter, with a note inside: "What you find is yours."

Uk: Сміх розлунався, але весільна гра тривала.
En: Laughter filled the air, but the wedding game continued.

Uk: Потім, було знайдено папірець вибитий словом "так".
En: Then, a piece of paper was found with the word "yes" written on it.

Uk: Іван, кум, знову засміявся гучно.
En: Ivan, the best man, laughed again loudly.

Uk: Ось, каже, це вам не середньовічна загадка!
En: Here, he said, this is not a medieval riddle for you!

Uk: А туфелька?
En: And the shoe?

Uk: Ну, думає, треба шукати далі.
En: Well, he thought, we must keep searching.

Uk: У когось була ідея шукати у кухні.
En: Someone had the idea to search in the kitchen.

Uk: Та ні, не там.
En: But no, it wasn't there.

Uk: Всі бігали, сміялись, хтось навіть зловив зайця!
En: Everyone ran around, laughing, someone even caught a rabbit!

Uk: Але не було туфельки.
En: But the shoe was not found.

Uk: Мабуть, сумує вона за своєю парою, думали вони.
En: Maybe, they thought, it is longing for its pair.

Uk: Аж ось, в спальні, на камінні, біля старих фотографій наречених, була знайдена друга втрачена туфелька.
En: And then, in the bedroom, on the mantelpiece, near the old photographs of the newlyweds, the second lost shoe was found.

Uk: Іван, кум, торжествуючи підняв її вгору.
En: Ivan, the best man, triumphantly lifted it up.

Uk: Ось де ти була, моя красуня!
En: There you are, my beauty, where have you been!

Uk: Всі реготали і водночас зітхнули з полегшенням.
En: Everyone laughed and sighed with relief at the same time.

Uk: Свято можна було продовжувати, наречена повернула свою туфельку і весілля пройшло у великому гулянні до пізньої ночі.
En: The celebration could continue, the bride returned her shoe, and the wedding continued with a grand celebration until late into the night.

Uk: Так закінчилась ця версія казки про втрачену весільну туфельку.
En: This is how this version of the fairytale about the lost wedding shoe ended.
