Hu: A hajnali ködbe burkolt Pesten, Gábor, egy fiatal, izgatott turista haladt előre a kanyargós utcák labirintusán keresztül.
En: In the misty morning of Pest, Gábor, a young, excited tourist, moved forward through the labyrinthine streets.

Hu: Budapest, az Öreg Duna partján fekvő város kápráztatja el, mágikus keverékével a történelmi építészetnek és a modern élet stílusának.
En: Budapest, the city resting on the banks of the Old Danube, dazzles with its magical blend of historical architecture and modern lifestyle.

Hu: Reggel még sziget volt a csendben, minden lépés Gábort beljebb ragadta a város hangulatába.
En: In the morning, it was still an island of tranquility, and every step drew Gábor further into the atmosphere of the city.

Hu: Hirtelen a Széchenyi fürdő aranyozott kapuja tűnt fel előtte, mint egy kecses királynő s koronája a ködben.

Hu: Kíváncsiságában, mintha a palackban rejlő víz valami különleges ígéretet tartogatna, Gábor nyakába veszi kézitáskáját, feloldja a palack aranyozott csavarzárját és hosszan belekortyol.
En: Out of curiosity, as if the water within the bottle held some special promise, Gábor takes it into his hands, unlocks the gilded screw cap, and takes a long sip.

Hu: Azonnal érez valami furcsa ízt a szájában, kisebb szünetet tart, rágondolva, hogy valószínűleg a palackban nincs ásványvíz, szeretnéd elröhögni magát, ámde a szomjúsága ismét visszakergeti a palackhoz.
En: Immediately, he tastes something strange in his mouth, pausing to ponder that perhaps it wasn't mineral water in the bottle, ready to laugh at himself, but his thirst draws him back to the bottle.

Hu: De már késő.
En: But it's already too late.

Hu: Gábor gyomra remegni kezd, és a furcsa érzés csak fokozódik minden kortynál.
En: Gábor's stomach starts to tremble, and the strange sensation intensifies with each sip.

Hu: Hirtelen felkapja a földről a térképét, bepanaszolva a helyzetét a közelben álló idősebb úrnak, bizonytalanul várva a reakcióját.
En: He hastily picks up his map from the ground, complaining about his situation to an elderly man standing nearby, uncertainly waiting for his reaction.

Hu: Az úr kacagása zengi be a levegőt, a kezében lévő palackot mutatva, furcsa szavakat mond magyarul, amit Gábor csak nehezen ért.
En: The old man bursts into laughter, pointing to the bottle in his hand, uttering strange words in Hungarian that Gábor can barely understand.

Hu: „-Termálvíz!
En: "Thermal water!"

Hu: – hajtogatja az öreg, reszkető rózsaszín fejét rázva az égen.
En: the old man repeats, shaking his trembling pink head towards the sky.

Hu: Gábor felkapja a fejét, a szemei nedvesek a meglepetéstől.
En: Gábor lifts his head, his eyes dewy with surprise.

Hu: Aztán minden összeomlik.
En: And then everything collapses.

Hu: Következő álmos délután, Gábor, öntudatát veszi, a budapesti szállodájában, a szobájában fekszik, lassan emlékszik a hihetetlen eseményekre, és próbál rájönni, hogy a termálvíz valóban megijesztett-e vagy valójában segített neki gyógyulni.
En: On the following sleepy afternoon, Gábor regains consciousness in his hotel room in Budapest, slowly remembering the unbelievable events and trying to figure out if the thermal water actually scared him or truly helped him heal.

Hu: Egy másnapos reggelen Gábor egy békés kávézóban találja magát, a Duna partján, míg a mai nap a naplójában marad, így emlékeztetve a szenvedély és az izgalom e városban.
