Uk: Там, де вуличні вогники відбиваються у бруківці світло-мокрого плацу Ринок, Ярослав посідає в львівському барі «Наукова Кава».
En: Where the streetlights reflect on the wet cobblestones of Market Square, Yaroslav sits in the Lviv bar "Scientific Coffee".

Uk: Гомін та музика сукатимуться в танці вуха, а погляд заблудиться в ірисках-паркетах цієї старовинної споруди.
En: The buzz and music intertwine in a dance for the ears, while his gaze gets lost in the irises of the parquet floor of this ancient building.

Uk: "Десять!
En: "Ten!"

Uk: " - видихнув він, вловивши внутрішній сміх, коли бариста запитав, скільки порцій вареників з картоплею він хоче замовити.
En: he exhales, catching his inner laughter as the barista asks how many portions of potato dumplings he would like to order.

Uk: Ярослав впевнений був, що замовив лише одну порцію, але бариста помилку їх вух не помітив.
En: Yaroslav was sure he only ordered one portion, but the barista didn't notice the mistake.

Uk: І вот тепер у Ярослава перед носом десять страв из вареників.
En: And now, before Yaroslav's eyes, there are ten plates of dumplings.

Uk: Він дивиться на цю гору натхненного амброзії людської праці з дивною сумішшю заступомоту й почуттям розпачу.
En: He looks at this heap of inspired ambrosia of human labor with a strange mixture of bewilderment and a sense of despair.

Uk: "Що мені робити з десятьма порціями вареників?
En: "What am I going to do with ten portions of dumplings?"

Uk: " - думав він, облизуючи губи.
En: he thought, licking his lips.

Uk: У його шлунку вже відчувається помилкове прибуття безлічі вареників.
En: His stomach already feels the erroneous arrival of numerous dumplings.

Uk: Дивуючись, як таке могло статися, Ярослав дозволяє своїй руці взяти один з вареників.
En: Wondering how this could have happened, Yaroslav lets his hand take one dumpling.

Uk: Він ще ніколи не відчував себе таким великим насмішенником або великим їдоком.
En: He had never felt like such a big jester or eater.

Uk: Та під колесами свієї думки, він нахилив голову, взяв вареник і тихенько почав їсти.
En: But under the wheels of his thoughts, he tilted his head, took the dumpling, and quietly began to eat.

Uk: Так він бився з цією горою хліба і тінню, а час літав навколо нього, ніби відкриті коні в каруселі.
En: He struggled with this mountain of bread and shadow, while time flew around him like horses on a carousel.

Uk: Ярослав шукав вихід з цього карколомного становища, проте кожен вареник викликав асоціації з вирішенням конфлікту: його було не можливо вирішити шляхом зречення, без болю та втрат.
En: Yaroslav searched for a way out of this dizzying predicament, but each dumpling evoked associations with conflict resolution: it was impossible to resolve it without pain and loss.

Uk: Коли гора вареників нарешті зменшилася до останнього, Ярослав почував жолобівку від усмішки на обличчі.
En: When the mountain of dumplings finally dwindled to the last one, Yaroslav felt a flicker of a smile on his face.

Uk: Тільки зараз, коли все було покінчено, він знав, що є особливе відчуття того, що вiн зробив це: він підкорив гору вареників, незважаючи на велику помилку, яку він не міг повернути.
En: Only now, when it was all over, he knew that there was a special feeling in what he had done: he conquered the mountain of dumplings, despite the big mistake he couldn't undo.

Uk: Зараз, при думці про це, Ярослав може посміхнутися.
En: Now, thinking about it, Yaroslav can smile.
