Nl: De lucht is er vol van heerlijke geuren.
En: The air is filled with delicious scents.

Nl: Van geroosterde koffiebonen.
En: Roasted coffee beans.

Nl: Van zoet gebak.
En: Sweet pastries.

Nl: We zijn in Het Zoete Gedicht, een klein, knus café in een stad vol leven.
En: We are at Het Zoete Gedicht, a small, cozy café in a lively city.

Nl: Rechte houten stoelen, oude foto's aan de muur, elk met zijn eigen verhaal.
En: Straight wooden chairs, old photos on the wall, each with its own story.

Nl: Daar zitten ze: Jan, Sofie en Piet, drie dikke vrienden.
En: There they are: Jan, Sofie, and Piet, three close friends.

Nl: Jan houdt van koffie, stevige zwarte koffie zonder suiker.
En: Jan loves coffee, strong black coffee without sugar.

Nl: Piet, daarentegen, geniet het liefst van een warme chocolademelk, vol schuimige slagroom.
En: Piet, on the other hand, prefers to indulge in a hot chocolate, full of creamy whipped cream.

Nl: Ja, zij lust alles.

Nl: Ze praten, lachen, tot Jan de eerste slok neemt.
En: They talk, laugh, until Jan takes the first sip.

Nl: Zijn gezicht is grappig, bijna als een clown in het circus.
En: His face is funny, almost like a clown in the circus.

Nl: "Bwek!
En: "Blegh!"

Nl: " zegt hij.

En: It's sweet!

Nl: En waar is de slagroom?
En: And where's the whipped cream?

Nl: Piet neemt ook een stap.
En: Piet takes a sip too.

Nl: Maar zijn gezicht is grappig, grappiger zelfs dan dat van Jan.
En: But his face is even funnier, funnier than Jan's.

Nl: "Bah!
En: "Yuck!"

Nl: " zegt hij, wat bitter!
En: he says, how bitter!

Nl: En waar is de suiker?
En: And where's the sugar?

Nl: Daar begint de hilariteit.
En: That's when the hilarity begins.

Nl: Sofie kan niet stoppen met lachen.
En: Sofie can't stop laughing.

Nl: Ze lacht zo hard dat haar wangen rood worden.
En: She laughs so hard that her cheeks turn red.

Nl: De andere mensen in het café kijken verbaasd.
En: The other people in the café look surprised.

Nl: Ze weten niet wat er aan de hand is.
En: They don't know what's going on.

Nl: Jan en Piet kijken naar elkaar, dan naar hun mokken.
