Story Transcript:

He: השמש של תל אביב דוקרת את השמיים כאילו היא נקודת החיבור בין הארץ לשמיים.
En: The Tel Aviv sun pierces the sky as if it were the connecting point between the earth and heaven.

He: האוויר Ηום ומרעמהם מכאיבים לאוזניים.
En: The hot and humid air is painful to the ears.

He: הכל שם הולך בקצב שונה, מהיר ולוחם.
En: Everything there moves at a different pace, fast and relentless.

He: בית הקפה ברחוב הים הבוער, מנסה להעביר את הזמן בחדר החום הנלעג.
En: The café on the scorching sea street tries to pass the time in the mocking warmth of the room.

He: דוד, הבעלים, מנסה לעבוד מאחורי הדלפק תוך שהוא מושך את הזמן.
En: David, the owner, tries to work behind the counter while he pulls time.

He: הוא מחמיא על זריחה יפה, משדר שיחה בלתי מתפשרת ומבטיח גילויים נפש מטרידים בתקווה שהיום ייגמר מהר.
En: He compliments on the beautiful sunrise, engages in uncompromising conversation, and promises unsettling revelations in the hope that the day will end quickly.

He: התרסה התרגשה.
En: The frustration intensifies.

He: עם כל הפגישות, הנפגשים, השיחות, החיוך והזעם, רק שרה הייתה בוודאות.
En: With all the meetings, encounters, conversations, smiles, and anger, only Sara was certain.

He: דוד, מלא בראשו מחשבות על החיים, הזמין את הפיצה מולם.
En: David, lost in thoughts about life, orders pizza in front of them.

He: זו הייתה פיצה שלמה, ולא פשוט פרוסה כמו שהוא רגיל.
En: It was a whole pizza, not just a slice as usual.

He: הוא מרחם בהתייחסות, אבל אדם לא יכול להתעלם מתחושת החרדה בחלל הבטן הריק.
En: He sympathizes affectionately, but one cannot ignore the feeling of anxiety in the empty stomach.

He: הוא מנסה לאכול, אבל החומר הקשה והאי האפשרי מחליט את הסיפור.
En: He tries to eat, but the hard substance and the impossibility decided the story.

He: שרה רדקה להציל את היום.
En: Sara goes down to save the day.

He: לא להוסיף את הדברים בדרך הישנה הנאחזת, אלא היא תעז לשאול את השאלה: "למה לא לגלגל את הפיצה, כמו רול?
En: Not adding things in the familiar clinging way, rather she dares to ask the question: "Why not roll the pizza, like a roll?"

He: " וכך היא ממשיכה, ממציאה דרך יצירתית נוספת אחר דרך יצירתית: "ניתן אפילו לחתוך את הפיצה לחתיכות קטנות בגודל ביס, כך התחושה שלא אכלת הרבה לא תהיה!
En: And so she continues, inventing another creative way after a creative way: "You can even cut the pizza into small pieces the size of a bite, so the feeling of not having eaten much won't be there!"

He: "כאילו גאומטריה שלא הכירנו לפני המחליקה להם מתחת לאצבעות, אינהם מנסים להשתלוט על הפיצה, שרה אף הופכת לצ'ילה ודוד מרגיש בבטן יותר ממלא הרבה יותר ממלא, הודות לשרה.
En: As if geometry we didn't know before slipped under their fingers, they do not try to dominate the pizza, Sara even becomes a chila, and David feels more in his stomach than he fills, thanks to Sara.

He: הימים בתל אביב נמשכים, החיים ממשיכים להתרחש, אבל מעכשיו, דוד ישם לב יותר למה הוא מזמין.
En: The days in Tel Aviv continue, life goes on, but from now on, David pays more attention to what he orders.

He: הקונפליקט המרכזי של הסיפור מגיע למסקנה: חשיפה ברורה של חישוק הפיצה גאולה, אפשרות חדשה‭.
En: The main conflict of the story reaches a conclusion: a clear exposure of the pizza circle is redeemed, a new possibility.

He: אך אפשר גם לראות בדרך בה שרה הצילה את היום מעין אלגוריה לתרבות השיחה בחברה הישראלית - מהירה, מציאותית ולא מרחמת.
En: But one can also see in the way Sara saved the day an allegory for the conversational culture in Israeli society - fast, pragmatic, and unsympathetic.
