Ko: "비가 창문으로 뛰어들어오던 그날, 카페 테라스에 앉아있던 한 외국인, 지혜는 그녀의 머릿속에서 한국말을 지우기로 결심했다. 그녀는 최근 서울에 이주해 왔고, 언어의 장벽에 직면한 그녀의 일상은 한 순간도 성가신 것으로 느껴졌다. 그녀는 자신의 삶을 뒤흔들며 그 경험을 스스로 해결하고자 했다.
En: On a day when rain was coming in through the windows, an outsider named Ji-hye, who was sitting on a café terrace, made a decision to erase Korean from her mind. Having recently immigrated to Seoul, she felt that her daily life, facing the language barrier, was constantly frustrating. She wanted to shake up her life and solve this experience on her own.

Ko: "자신만의 도전으로, 지혜는 언어 훈련 뿐 아니라 문화 조화를 위해 인기 가득한 서울의 작은 식당에 가기로 결정했다. 섬세하게 조각된 나무 테이블에 앉아있는 그녀는, 긴장감으로 가득 찬 표정을 보이며 메뉴판을 봤다. 아쉽게도 그것은 완전히 알 수 없는 문언으로 가득 찬 것이었다. 하지만 그녀는 그 불편함을 뒤로 미루고 다양한 요리를 주문하고자 했다.
En: As her own challenge, Ji-hye decided to visit a popular small restaurant in Seoul not only for language practice but also for cultural harmony. Sitting at a delicately carved wooden table, she nervously looked at the menu. Unfortunately, it was filled with completely unfamiliar language. However, she pushed aside this discomfort and wanted to order a variety of dishes.

Ko: "그녀는 아무 생각 없이 메뉴 중 몇 가지를 가리켰다. 웃음을 참으며 직원은 그녀의 주문을 받았다. 그런 다음 긴장된 기대감 속에서 음식이 서빙되기를 기다렸다. 그 때, 일어난 충격적인 일은... 닭 발, 된장 찌개, 깍두기, 불고기에서 벌레까지, 그녀가 가리킨 요리는 한국 전통 음식의 축제와 같았다. 그리고 이 모든 것은 지혜에게는 너무나 생소했다.
En: Without much thought, she pointed at a few items on the menu. Suppressing a laugh, the staff took her order. She then anxiously awaited the serving of the food. Then, what happened was quite shocking... From chicken feet, soybean paste stew, kimchi, bulgogi, to even bugs, the dishes she pointed at turned out to be a festival of traditional Korean cuisine. And all of this was so unfamiliar to Ji-hye.

Ko: "그러나, 그녀는 웃음을 지었고 그 요리들을 맛보려 노력했다. 언어의 장벽을 두고 이상한 조합의 음식을 맛본다는 것은 그 자체가 강력한 도전이었다. 이런 과정으로, 그녀는 그 경험을 절대 잊지 못할 추억이 됐다고 느낄 수 있었다. 이러한 일련의 상황은 많은 시련 속에서도 그녀의 강인함을 확인하고, 새로운 환경에 적응하고자 하는 그녀의 끈질긴 의지를 드러냈다.
En: However, she smiled and attempted to taste those dishes. Eating strange combinations of food across the language barrier was a powerful challenge in itself. Through this process, she could feel that this experience would become an unforgettable memory. Amidst these series of trials, it affirmed her resilience and revealed her steadfast determination to adapt to a new environment.

Ko: "끈질긴 도전 후, 지혜는 결국 그 어려운 과정을 통해 자신의 문제점에 대한 해결책을 발견했다. 그녀는 인내와 용기로, 그리고 아이러니하게도 함께 웃음을 내지른 그 식당 직원의 도움으로 그 언어 장벽을 뛰어넘었다. 그래서 그 순간, 멀리 서울에 와서 그녀의 새로운 삶을 시작하며, 그녀는 결국 자신이 언어에 의존하지 않아도 자신의 삶을 즐길 수 있다는 것을 깨달았다.
En: After a persistent challenge, Ji-hye eventually found a solution to her issues through this tough process. With patience and courage, and ironically with the help of the restaurant staff who laughed together with her, she crossed the language barrier. So, in that moment, coming to Seoul and starting her new life, she eventually realized that she could enjoy her life without relying on language.

Ko: "따라서, 결국 그 대화나 요리가 어떤 문화를 나타내든 그것의 진정한 가치는 사람들의 서로 다른 경험과 문화를 좀 더 이해하고 존중한다는 생각에 있다는 것을 배웠습니다. 그리고 마지막으로, 그녀는 다른 사람들이 자신의 언어에 대한 그녀의 투쟁을 이해하고 돕기를 원한다는 것을 알았다. 서로의 차이를 이해하고 존중하는 것은 그녀가 얻은 가장 중요한 교훈이었습니다.
En: Therefore, ultimately, she learned that regardless of the culture or cuisine a conversation represents, its true value lies in understanding and respecting each other's different experiences and cultures. And finally, she realized that others want to understand and assist in her struggle with language. Understanding and respecting each other's differences was the most important lesson she learned.
