Pt: Naquela tarde dourada de outono, o vento brincava com as folhas secas que caíam das árvores do quintal.
En: That golden autumn afternoon, the wind played with the dry leaves falling from the trees in the yard.

Pt: Dentro da casa grande, a vida seguia seu curso normal.
En: Inside the large house, life followed its normal course.

Pt: Lourenço, o pai sempre apressado e um pouco esquecido, começava a sentir-se preocupado.
