Ko: 서울의 한복판에서 일어난 일이었습니다. 동굴 같은 마당에서 골목으로 삐걱거리는 낡은 철문을 열고 들어가면 여긴 또 다른 세계와 같았습니다. 마치 시골신세였죠. Ji-hye는 어제 거석에서 떨어진 채로 근처 장터에서 친구인 Seok-ho를 만났습니다. 그리곤 그녀는 Seok-ho의 아파트로 초대받았는데, 이것이 결국 Ji-hye의 수난의 시작이었습니다.
En: It was an incident that happened in the heart of Seoul. Opening the rusty iron gate creaking in the alley from a cave-like courtyard felt like entering another world. It was almost like a rural setting. Ji-hye, who had fallen off a rock the day before, met her friend Seok-ho at a nearby market. She was then invited to Seok-ho's apartment, which ultimately marked the beginning of Ji-hye's ordeal.

Ko: "여기 보세요 Ji-hye, 저고리 입은 거, Min-ji가 만든 김치찌개에요. 직접 담근 김치로 만든 거, 한번 갈까요?" Seok-ho가 제안했습니다. Ji-hye는 생선을 선호하는 편이라 고민이 됐습니다. 그래도 Seok-ho의 진심이니 할 수 없다 싶어 마음을 먹었습니다.
En: "Look here, Ji-hye, this is a jacket, and it's kimchi stew made by Min-ji. It's made with homemade kimchi. Shall we try it together?" Seok-ho suggested. Ji-hye usually preferred fish, so she hesitated. Nevertheless, feeling Seok-ho’s sincerity, she made up her mind.

Ko: "선호하는 건 아니지만, Min-ji가 만든 것이라면..." Ji-hye가 과감히 말을 끊었습니다. 밥상은 이미 수북히 쌓인 깍두기와 김치찌개로 빼곡했습니다.
En: "It's not my preference, but if it's made by Min-ji..." Ji-hye boldly interrupted. The dining table was already filled with pickled radish and kimchi stew.

Ko: 근사한 밥상 앞에 앉아 떠먹기 시작했습니다. 하지만 Seok-ho와 Min-ji는 Ji-hye가 거의 다 먹은 찌개를 또다시 가득 채우는 것을 멈추지 않았습니다. "Seok-ho, 이 정도면 충분해. 정말로," Ji-hye는 단호하게 말했지만, Seok-ho의 대답은 여전히 "다소 불편하시더라도 더 드셔주시겠어요?"였습니다.
En: She sat in front of the delicious spread and started with small bites. However, Seok-ho and Min-ji didn’t stop refilling the almost finished stew. "Seok-ho, this is enough. Really," Ji-hye firmly said, but Seok-ho's response still insisted, "Would you like more, even if it's a bit uncomfortable?"

Ko: 그래, 거절하는 것이 좀 더 어려웠다. 그래서 Ji-hye는 더 먹었다, 그리고 더 먹었습니다. 결국, 그녀는 집에 돌아오기까지 서툴게 길을 찾았고, 그 다음 날 아침에 페인킬러를 목에 넘겼습니다.
En: It was a bit harder to refuse. So Ji-hye ate more, and then even more. In the end, she struggled to find her way home and the next morning had to swallow a painkiller.

Ko: 그렇게 서울에서의 Ji-hye의 첫 번째 먹방 기록은 고통스럽게 끝나게 되었습니다. 이 뒤로 Ji-hye는 그녀의 건강에 더욱 신경을 써야 했으며, Seok-ho와 Min-ji에게서의 초대는 두 번 다시 받지 않았습니다. 하지만, 그들과의 친구 관계는 이 사건으로 인해 더욱 깊어졌다. 결국, 각자의 차이를 인정하며 식사를 함께하는 풍성함보다는 각자의 건강을 최우선에 두기로 합의했습니다. 그렇게 여행은 끝났지만, 그날의 기록은 여전히 Ji-hye의 기억 속에 남아있습니다.
