📖 Scripture
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” — Philippians 3:13

Devotional Message:
Your past may have shaped part of your story, but it does not have the power to define your destiny. In God, yesterday does not have authority over tomorrow. His grace gives you the power to rise above regrets, failures, pain, and missed opportunities.

Many remain bound, not because doors are closed, but because they keep looking backward. The weight of past mistakes, disappointments, and wounds can keep a person from moving into what God has prepared. But you cannot fully embrace the future while chained to yesterday.

Rising above the past begins with letting go. Let go of guilt. Let go of condemnation. Let go of the memories that keep speaking defeat. What God has forgiven, do not keep rehearsing. What God has healed, do not keep reopening.

The God who redeemed your past is also preparing your future. What happened behind you cannot stop what God has placed ahead of you. Your setbacks can become stepping stones. Your scars can become testimonies.

Do not camp in old seasons. Press forward. Lift your eyes. Move in faith. There is more ahead than behind.

You are not called to live in the shadow of the past—you are called to rise above it.

Today, Ask Yourself
Am I moving forward in faith, or am I allowing my past to hold me back?

Prayer
Almighty Father, thank You for the grace to rise above my past. Help me to let go of every weight that hinders me and move forward into the future You have prepared for me. Heal every wound, renew my hope, and strengthen me to press on. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
