Story Transcript:

Lv: Vienā spožā saulainā dienā, kad Rīgas Centrāltirgus stendi bija pilni ar svaigiem lauku labumiem, Aldis pastaigājās pa treknajiem tirgus ceļiem, lai atrastu kaut ko gardu vakariņām.
En: On a bright sunny day when the stalls of Riga Central Market were full of fresh country produce, Aldis strolled along the bustling market streets to find something tasty for dinner.

Lv: Taču viņa diena drīz vien paņēma negaidītu pavērsienu.
En: However, his day soon took an unexpected turn.

Lv: Aldis bija nesen dzirdējis no savas draudzenes Ineses par viņas tanti, kura pārdeva visgaršīgākos marinētos gurķus.
En: Aldis had recently heard from his girlfriend Inese about her aunt who sold the most delicious pickles.

Lv: "Labdien! Ineses tante, jūs nezināt mani, bet es esmu dzirdējis tik daudz par jūsu brīnišķīgajiem gurķiem. Es esmu Aldis, Ineses draugs."
En: He dared to address the woman: "Good day! Inese's aunt, you don't know me, but I've heard so much about your wonderful pickles. I'm Aldis, Inese's friend."

Lv: "Ak, Inese, manējā... Protams, varētu jums pastāstīt mūsu ģimenes recepti. Bet kāpēc gan jūs nepagaršojat pirms mēs sākam sarunu?"
En: The woman was taken aback, but then smiled and played along: "Oh, Inese, my dear... Of course, I could tell you our family recipe. But why don't you taste them before we start talking?"

Lv: Stāsts ritēja, un Aldis uzklausīja daudzas "ģimenes" anekdotes un receptes nianses.
