Story Transcript:

Hu: A kezdeteknél fogunk, ami nem volt olyan rég, igaz? Búg a Duna, a hídon árnyékok futnak át, a Gellért-hegyen pedig alig pislákol néhány villanyfény. Budapest, a magyar föld szíve, ahol a város szélén ringatózó búzaföldek és a cuha összefonódik a pesti macskaköves utcákkal. Ott találkozott Eszter és Gábor egy nap.
En: We will start from the beginning, which wasn't that long ago, right? The Danube murmurs, shadows run across the bridge, and on Gellért Hill, only a few lights flicker dimly. Budapest, the heart of Hungarian land, where the wheat fields swaying at the edge of the city intertwine with the ragpicker alleys of Pest. It was there that Eszter and Gábor met one day.

Hu: Gábor, egy elragadott pálinkafőző törlött meg egy izzasztó poharat a bárjában a pesti Váci utcán, ahol a külföldi turisták mindenféle nyelven beszélgetnek. Bukott egy bicentini az asztalon, összezúgott a többiek nevetése. Egyszerű dolgok, mint a város élete.
En: Gábor, a fascinated pálinka distiller, wiped a sweaty glass in his bar on Váci Street in Pest, where foreign tourists chat in various languages. He knocked back a bicentini on the table, drowned out by the laughter of the others. Simple things, like the life of the city.

Hu: De Eszter, egy ambiciózus idegenvezető, ezen a napon új kihívást talált a turisták számára. Meg akarta tanítani őket a pálinka fogalmára. Ahogy bekopogott Gáborhoz, a szemeiben lángolt a vállalkozó szellem.
En: But Eszter, an ambitious tour guide, found a new challenge for the tourists that day. She wanted to teach them the concept of pálinka. As she knocked on Gábor's door, the entrepreneurial spirit shone in her eyes.

Hu: "Nem az az alkohol, amit csak lehúzol." Mesélte. "Ez az élet, a föld, a munka illata és íze. Ez a megkötődés, a harc a természet ellen, és a végén a győzelem ünneplése.
En: "It's not just an alcohol you gulp down," she explained. "It's the scent and taste of life, earth, and work. It's the attachment, the battle against nature, and at the end, the celebration of victory."

Hu: A turistáknak furcsa volt ez a kapcsolat. A szeszesital és a szenvedély olyan távolinak tűnt az ő szokásaiktól, ahol a bor csak egy étel mellé való ital. De az a ragyogás, ahogyan Eszter mesélt, és a lángoló pálinka látványa Gábor poharában, elindította őket ezen az úton.

Hu: A turisták szép lassan, kortyról-kortyra megértették, milyen mély érzésekkel járnak az illatok és az ízek. Ahogy átölelték a pálinkát, öleltek át egy új kultúrát, egy új megértést. Így lett a Váci utca kis kocsmájából egy magyar kultúra központja, ahol a pálinka lett a kapocs.
En: The tourists slowly, sip by sip, understood the deep emotions that come with the scents and flavors. As they embraced the pálinka, they embraced a new culture, a new understanding. Thus, the small pub on Váci Street became a hub of Hungarian culture, where pálinka became the link.
