The whole point of offering a subscription is that you’re trying to get people who love your products or services to subscribe and to stay loyal to your brand. This is important because the goal is to attract customers who have a higher lifetime value for your shop rather than customers who only casually make purchases from you. That being said, no two customers are exactly the same and Matt dives into the two different customer types you might encounter in your business. The reason memberships are so powerful is because you're charging for people to have a shopping and purchasing experience they wouldn't have otherwise, like additional services or better prices. Memberships can also be tricky to navigate if you're already offering subscriptions and Matt provides some helpful solutions.

So when we’re talking about offers, we want to think about ways that we can let customers self select that they’re interested in a greater experience, and that’s one of the ways that memberships can be really powerful.” 14:27
