Lv: Pavasaris bija klāt, un saule mīļi sildīja Rīgas ielas.
En: Spring had arrived, and the sun warmly embraced the streets of Riga.

Lv: Aija, kas mīlēja svaigus dārzeņus, bija izlēmusi doties uz Rīgas Centrāltirgu.
En: Aija, who loved fresh vegetables, had decided to go to the Riga Central Market.

Lv: Tas bija viņas pirmais apmeklējums, un viņa jutās satraukta, jo bija dzirdējusi, ka tur var atrast visdažādākos labumus par labām cenām.
En: It was her first visit, and she felt excited, as she had heard that there, one could find a variety of goodies at good prices.

Lv: Tirgū smaržoja kā pavasarī – svaigi un dzīvīgi.
En: The market smelled like spring – fresh and vibrant.

Lv: Liene, Aijas labā draudzene, bija viņu brīdinājusi, ka ne visi tirgū ir draudzīgi, bet Juris izskatījās tik uzticams, ka Aija nepavisam nešaubījās.
En: Liene, Aija's good friend, had warned her that not everyone at the market was friendly, but Juris looked so reliable that Aija had no doubts at all.

Lv: Juris, pārsteigts par negaidīto jautājumu, paskatījās uz dārzeņiem un tad uz Aiju.
En: Juris, surprised by the unexpected question, looked at the vegetables and then at Aija.

Lv: Viņam patika spēles gars, tāpēc viņš nolēma uzspēlēt līdzi.
En: He liked the playful spirit, so he decided to play along.

Lv: "Nu, par šiem gurķiem... Es domāju, ka par pieciem eiro varētu būt taisnīga cena," viņš teica ar smaidu.
En: "Well, for these cucumbers... I think five euros would be a fair price," he said with a smile.

Lv: Aija nodomāja, ka tas ir pārāk dārgi. "Nē, nē, lietainajā dienā jūs noteikti piedāvātu labāku cenu! Es maksāšu trīs eiro," viņa teica, taču nezināja, ka Juris nav īstais tirgotājs.
En: Aija thought that was too expensive. "No, no, on a rainy day, you would definitely offer a better price! I will pay three euros," she said, not knowing that Juris wasn't the actual trader.

Lv: Vairākas minūtes Aija un Juris strīdējās par cenu, līdz Liene piegāja klāt un atpazina Jurisu – viņu vecās skolas biedru.
En: For several minutes, Aija and Juris argued over the price until Liene approached and recognized Juris – their old schoolmate.

Lv: Liene iejaukties ar vārdiem: "Aija, Juris nav tirgotājs! Tu kļūdies!"
En: Liene intervened, saying, "Aija, Juris isn't a trader! You're mistaken!"

Lv: Visi kopā smējās par šo neveiklo situāciju, un Juris, kas novērtēja Aijas sarunu prasmes, izguva kaudzi ar zemenēm un pasniedza Aijai.
