Story Transcript:

He: "דוד לחץ על פלאג של הגז במטבח המלון, וחליט להתחיל את ביקורו הראשון בירושלים בהליכה לכותל. הוא הכין לעצמו ארוחת בוקר פשוטה, לחם נחמם עם ביצה על המחבת, וצא לדרך."
En: David turned on the gas stove in the hotel kitchen and decided to start his first visit to Jerusalem by walking to the Western Wall. He prepared himself a simple breakfast, warm bread with an egg on the frying pan, and set off on his way.

He: "היו לו את ההוראות, לפחות כך חשב, כתובות בקטע נייר שהוא קיבל מאישה שמנהלת את המלון. אך מהר מאוד, ברחובות העתיקים של ירושלים, דוד הסיט מהדרך."
En: He had the instructions, at least that's what he thought, written on a piece of paper that he received from the hotel manager. But quickly, in the ancient streets of Jerusalem, David got off track.

He: "אז קרה - הוא נעלם, בין הרחובות האבניים הפרועים של רחובות עיר העתיקה. הוא נסה לשאול מעברים תמיכה, אך החליטו שהוא רוצה לגלות את המקום בדרכו הסיפור קיבל ממדים של מסע."
En: Then it happened - he disappeared, among the crumbling stone streets of the Old City. He tried asking passersby for assistance, but it was determined that he wanted to discover the place on his own. The journey took on the dimensions of an adventure.

He: "דוד הכיר חנויות של חרסנים ובעלי מלאכה, ראה אנשים מניחים תפילין וישיבות קטנות בחצרות בתי הכנסת. לאורך ההליכה, נפוצצה לו תמונה של ירושלים שהיא הרבה יותר מתריסים אבניים והיסטוריה - היא חיים."
En: David got to know the shops of potters and artisans, he saw people putting on tefillin and small study sessions in the courtyards of synagogues. Throughout the walk, an image of Jerusalem emerged that was much more than just stone walls and history - it was alive.

He: "אבל הוא הרגיש את המתח כי הימים עברו, והוא עדיין לא מצא את הכותל. זו הייתה המשימה שהגדיר לעצמו. האם יכשל בה?"
En: But he felt the tension because the days passed, and he still hadn't found the Western Wall. It was the task he had set for himself. Would he fail?

He: "באחד הימים, ירד השמש ודוד ישב ליד קופסאת מילגה ברחוב. הייתה לו אכזבה עצומה כי הוא לא מצא את הכותל, אבל בעודו מתבונן בשמש ששקעה, גילה שהוא מול הכותל. הוא נכנס לרעש רחב של מתפללים, ימים, לילות כאחד, שם ישב על ספסל ארוך ונתן לדמעות ליפול."
En: One day, as the sun was setting, David sat next to a charity box on the street. He was immensely disappointed because he hadn't found the Western Wall, but as he gazed at the setting sun, he discovered that he was facing the Wall. He entered the wide noise of the praying people, days and nights together, where he sat on a long bench and allowed tears to fall.

He: "הוא קיבל את מסקנת הסיפור: לחיפוש לא תמיד פתרון פשוט, יש בו קשיים, אבל בסופו של דבר מגיעים ליעד. את המסקנות השונות מאוד זו מזו תוך שהוא ממשיך את החיים שלו, מה מוביל לחיפוש, מה הקשיים בדרך ואיך לגשת לזה."
En: He learned the lesson of the story: that searching is not always a simple solution, it has difficulties, but ultimately one reaches the destination. Different conclusions are intertwined as he continues his life, what leads him to search, what the difficulties on the way are, and how to approach them.
