Story Transcript:

He: בתיבה יותר ממוכנתה ומלאה בקניינים פשוטים, אבי שם את מפתח הדירה.
En: In a box more prepared and full of simple possessions, Avi placed the apartment key.

He: כבר שישיי מאוחר, היום מזחיל אל הסוף, והבטחה שנעשתה, היא חייבת להתממש.
En: It was already late on Friday, the day sliding towards the end, and the promise that was made had to be fulfilled.

He: הוא הולך ובדרכו ובדקה ה-30 לדרכו, הכיוון נעלם ממנו.
En: He sets off and on the 30th minute of his journey, the direction disappears from him.

He: אבי נמצא בלב שכונתו הידועה, תל אביב, אך במרחק התרחיש והבניינים הפתאום השתנו.
En: Avi finds himself in the heart of his familiar neighborhood, Tel Aviv, but the scenario distance and the sudden buildings have changed.

He: החום פלטי לחץ ממרפסת בניין מרובה קומות, רעש התנועה ממהירה הופך לשטוף ותבלין של ילדים משחקים הופך למינורי.
En: The warmth sneaks in from a multi-story building balcony, the noise of fast movement turns into a flood, and the spice of children playing becomes minor.

He: מרחבים פתאום חסרים אותו מספר הקומות, אולי זה הרוח החופשית שמרגישה קצת פחות מחוסמת.
En: Suddenly the spaces lack the same number of floors, maybe it's the free spirit feeling a little less blocked.

He: אבי מאיים בידו לעבר שלט רחוב בלתי מוכר שמשוכלל משאיר אותו מרובך, הוא מתלהב.
En: Avi threatens with his hand towards an unfamiliar street sign that confuses him, he is excited.

He: שומע את קול עצמו מבקש הוראות משלט רחוב ללא מענה.
En: He hears his voice asking for directions from the street sign but gets no response.

He: ואז, אינטואיציה מפתיעה לוקחת אותו לעבר שלט אחר, הפעם הפשוט יותר מבטיח לו מסלול ברור אך ארוך.
En: And then, a surprising intuition takes him towards another sign, this time the simpler one that promises him a clear but long route.

He: דרך ארוכה כמובן היא מחווה גדולה, יכולה להיות נעימה, כמעט היא התקיימה עד הסוף כשהפתאום אותה הנחה משיבה אותו לאותו שלט מולך הוא נעמד לפני מספר דקות, אולי ימים.
En: A long way is of course a great tribute, it can be pleasant, it almost came true until the end when suddenly the same nagging leads him back to that sign in front of him, he stands for a number of minutes, maybe days.

He: הכיוון המרכזי שלו התהותה, אך אז ויכוח עצמי פנימי מסביר לו שזו דרך הביישן וזו דרך החצוף.
En: His main direction hesitates, but then a self-conflict internally explains to him that this is the shy way and that is the bold way.

He: אחרי קונפליקט ארוך הוא מחליט להימנע מהחצוף.
En: After a long conflict, he decides to avoid the bold way.

He: אבי מתאגרף אל מקומב.
En: Avi shrugs his shoulders and moves on.

He: אם יישאר נותר כמו שחצון ממסילת העוברים ושבים שממון היומי, בסופו של יום העוברים ושבים מתערערים, הוא ישאר לבד בלי שום מכתשי קניינים שיתלו אותו, לא יהיו לו חצים בסירה שיתלו אותם, יהיה לו רק את התשוקה החסרה את הפנטזיה של הכיוון המוליך.
En: If he remains like a pawn from the passing and returning tracks and from the daily routine, in the end of the passing and returning, he will be left alone without any anchors that will hang him, he won't have arrows in a boat that will hang them, he will only have the missing passion and the fantasy of the leading direction.

He: אז חלם על מציאות מעט פחותה מהמחשבה, ואז חש שהוא לא יודע לאיזה כיוון יתקדם.
En: So he dreams of a slightly less realistic reality than the thought, and then feels that he doesn't know which direction to move in.

He: אבי ממשיך ללכת, עכשיו עם חוכמה יתירה, יודע שהדרך היא לא להכנעת הפשטות, אלא לרגש שאי אפשר לשכנע את הדרך, שהאינטואיציה שלך היא הפנים הטריים של האמת.
En: Avi continues to walk, now with excessive wisdom, knowing that the way is not surrender to simplifications, but to the emotion that cannot convince the path, that your intuition is the fresh face of truth.

He: אבי, שכאשר הוא נכנס לביתו בסוף, רק היה צריך להתנהל בו, הפתאום מרגיש נוח, מרגיש בבית.
En: Avi, when he enters his house in the end, only needed to maneuver in it, suddenly feels comfortable, feels at home.
