Ca: Un dia brillant, amb el sol repiquetejant suament als balcons de ferro forjat, Barcelona despertava.
En: One bright day, with the sun gently tapping on the wrought iron balconies, Barcelona awoke.

Ca: Aquí comença la nostra història amb Marta, una visitant de la ciutat.
En: And so begins our story with Marta, a visitor to the city.

Ca: La Marta era una dona alegre i decidida.
En: Marta was a cheerful and determined woman.

Ca: Va arribar a la majestuositat del Barri Gòtic, admirant la bellesa antiga dels seus edificis.
En: She arrived at the grandeur of the Gothic Quarter, admiring the ancient beauty of its buildings.

Ca: Aquí, el temps semblava haver-se parat, amb facanes de pedra vella, finestres de vidre emplomats i portes on recordava les històries d'algú altre temps.

Ca: Tenia una barba blanca i riallera, i unes mans grans i marcades.
En: He had a white and jovial beard, and large, weathered hands.

Ca: L'olor a tabac li donava un aire de sabiesa.
En: The smell of tobacco gave him an air of wisdom.

Ca: "Estic perduda", li va dir ella senzillament.
En: "I am lost," she told him simply.

Ca: El vell, amb ton tranquil i serè, li va explicar com tornar a la Plaça Catalunya.
En: The old man, with a calm and serene tone, explained how to get back to Plaça Catalunya.

Ca: La Marta, agraint-li, va seguir les seves indicacions.
En: Marta, thanking him, followed his directions.

Ca: La solució badava a la porta.
En: The solution was right at the doorstep.

Ca: Les parades de la Rambla, les cares alegres dels turistes i els antics edificis modernistes li van fer saber que havia arribat a la plaça.
