On Dec 25, 2018, Jeff collapsed from exhaustion and dehydration. Within hours he was admitted to the hospital for aspiration pneumonia and eventually diagnosed with Esophageal Achalasia.

Achalasia is a very rare disease (1/100,000) that prevents peristalsis which helps push food down to the stomach. It literally destroys the muscles and neurons of the esophagus making swallowing an extremely painful and challenging experience.
