Es: Mira, Mira, ¡Es en este bit!
En: Look, look, it's in this scene!

Es: exclamó María al correr hacia la televisión. Su excitación llenaba la pequeña sala de estar. Provenía de una de esas casas de tonos pastel al pie del cerro de la estrella, en Iztapalapa, México. María era una alegre mujer de mediana edad, llena de energía, a pesar de las largas horas de trabajo en el mercado.
En: exclaimed María as she ran towards the television. Her excitement filled the small living room. She came from one of those pastel-toned houses at the foot of the Cerro de la Estrella hill in Iztapalapa, Mexico. María was a cheerful middle-aged woman, full of energy, despite the long hours of work in the market.

Es: Alejandro, su vecino desde hace años y viejo amigo, sabía que si oía el nombre de María y risas al unísono, estaría relacionado con su telenovela favorita. Se conocían desde la infancia, los años habían cementado una bonita amistad entre ellos. Recogió su sombrero y se unió a María frente al aparato de televisión.
En: Alejandro, her neighbor for years and old friend, knew that if he heard María's name and laughter at the same time, it would be related to their favorite soap opera. They had known each other since childhood, and over the years a beautiful friendship had been solidified between them. He grabbed his hat and joined María in front of the television set.

Es: Maria señaló a la pantalla, donde una muy conocida actriz de telenovela estaba vestida con una peculiar combinación de colores y una peluca rubia muy brillante. Daba vueltas y vueltas con su vestido volando al viento mientras intentaba dramáticamente entender el triángulo amoroso en el que involuntariamente se había metido. Alejandro se echó a reír y María aplaudió con deleite.
En: Maria pointed to the screen, where a very well-known soap opera actress was dressed in a peculiar combination of colors and a very bright blonde wig. She spun around and around, with her dress flying in the wind as she dramatically tried to understand the love triangle she involuntarily got herself into. Alejandro burst into laughter and María applauded with delight.

Es: A medida que la actriz procedía a gritar en melodramática desesperación, el hilo de sus mentiras salían, se peleaba con su amante y su rival. La representación era tan exagerada y tan absurda que incluso personas que no entendían español podrían detectar el humor en ello.
En: As the actress proceeded to shout in melodramatic desperation, the thread of her lies unraveled, she argued with her lover and her rival. The performance was so exaggerated and absurd that even people who did not understand Spanish could detect the humor in it.

Es: En ese momento, María y Alejandro cedieron ante una risa completa. Sus risas retumbaban en las paredes de la pequeña sala, incluso superando el melodrama que se desarrollaba en la pantalla de la televisión.
En: At that moment, María and Alejandro succumbed to uncontrollable laughter. Their laughter echoed off the walls of the small room, even surpassing the melodrama playing out on the TV screen.

Es: Esta risa había sido una constante en su amistad, y a lo largo de los años, su enlace con la telenovela se había vuelto un reencuentro clave.
En: This laughter had been a constant in their friendship, and over the years, their bond with the soap opera had become a key reunion.

Es: Pero no siempre las risas eran solamente de diversión. Había momentos de nerviosismo, de incomodidad, de enfrentamiento y de enfado.
