Story Transcript:

Af: Op 'n helder oggend in Die Groot Karoo, waar die lug so blou is soos 'n swemdam, het Pieter, met sy hoed stewig op sy kop gedruk, besluit om 'n ry te maak na die plaaslike padstal.
En: On a clear morning in the Great Karoo, where the sky is as blue as a swimming pool, Pieter, with his hat firmly pressed on his head, decided to make a trip to the local farm stall.

Af: Hy wou bietjie vars produkte opsnor vir die week wat voorlê.
En: He wanted to gather some fresh produce for the upcoming week.

Af: By die padstal aangekom, het Pieter amper sy hoed verloor toe 'n fris wind skielik opsteek.
En: Arriving at the farm stall, Pieter nearly lost his hat as a fresh wind suddenly picked up.

Af: Hy stap deur die swaaideur en daar tref 'n kaleidoskoop van kleure hom.
En: He walked through the swinging door and was greeted by a kaleidoscope of colors.

Af: Twee vrouens, Tanya en Jan se vrou, het mekaar vasgetrek oor wie eerste daar was om die laaste bottel van die beroemde Karoo-heuning te koop.
En: Two women, Tanya and Jan's wife, were in a heated argument over who was the first to buy the last jar of the famous Karoo honey.

Af: Tanya met haar rooi serp wat wapper soos 'n vlag en Jan se vrou, kwaai met haar hande op die heupe.
En: Tanya with her red scarf waving like a flag and Jan's wife, sternly with her hands on her hips.

Af: Die twee was soos twee hane gereed vir stryd.
En: The two were ready for a fight like two roosters.

Af: Pieter het gekyk hoe die argument warmer word en skielik uitbars in giggellag toe 'n klein tarentaal laag oor hulle koppe vlieg en die heuning bottel uit Jan se vrou se hand pluk.
En: Pieter watched as the argument heated up and suddenly burst into laughter when a small ground squirrel swooped over their heads and snatched the honey jar from Jan's wife's hand.

Af: Die voël, blykbaar baie ingenome met sy nuwe skat, het reguit deur die oop deur en die Karoo in gevlieg.
En: The animal, apparently quite pleased with its new treasure, flew straight out the open door and into the Karoo.

En: There stood Tanya and Jan's wife, eyes as big as saucers, and they couldn't help but laugh.
