Lt: Vieną gražų rytą Gintaras, Rūta ir Eglė nusprendė susitikti Trakų pilyje.
En: One beautiful morning, Gintaras, Rūta, and Eglė decided to meet at Trakai Castle.

Lt: Jie planavo turėti puikų pikniką prie Galvės ežero, kuris žybtelėjo saulės spinduliuose lyg tūkstantis deimantų.
En: They planned to have a great picnic by Lake Galvė, which shimmered with sunlight like a thousand diamonds.

Lt: Kai jie išsirikiavo ant žalios pievos, Gintaras ištraukė iš pintinės maisto kraitį.
En: As they lined up on the green meadow, Gintaras took out a basket of food.

Lt: Eglė paruošė sumuštinius ir vaisių.
En: Eglė prepared sandwiches and fruit.

Lt: Rūta atidėjo šalia savo mylimą augintinį - ežiuką, kurio vardu buvo Pilkis.
En: Rūta placed her beloved pet hedgehog, named Pilkis, next to her.

Lt: Bet Gintaras, kuris mėgo juokauti, nepastebėjo mažojo ežiuko.
En: But Gintaras, who loved to joke, didn't notice the little hedgehog.

Lt: Jis nusprendė padaryti triuką ir pradėjo mėtyti "bulves" į orą.
En: He decided to pull a prank and started tossing "potatoes" into the air.

Lt: Vieną iš jų palaikė ruginėsmis, bet ta "bulvė" staiga pradėjo judėti!
En: One of them got caught in a cobweb, but that "potato" suddenly began to move!

Lt: Rūta šūktelėjo, "Gintarai, saugokis, tai ne bulvė, tai mano Pilkis!
En: Rūta shouted, "Gintaras, be careful, that's not a potato, it's my Pilkis!"

Lt: " Bet buvo per vėlu.
En: But it was too late.

Lt: Ežiukas nusirito žemėn ir pradėjo dūkti pro pilies kiemą.
En: The hedgehog tumbled to the ground and started squeaking through the castle courtyard.

Lt: Draugai griebė pikniko deką ir bėgo paskui Pilkį, kuris vos spėjo suktis tarp Trakų pilies menių.
En: The friends grabbed the picnic blanket and ran after Pilkis, who just managed to dodge between the artworks of Trakai Castle.

Lt: Eglė šaukė priešams - riteriams ir princesėms užsukusioms pasigrožėti pilimi, kad atsitrauktų, Gintaras šokinėjo per gėlynus, o Rūta skubėjo paskui, širdyse keldama tik viltį ežiuką pagauti.
En: Eglė called out to the onlookers - the knights and princesses who had come to admire the castle - to back off, Gintaras hopped through the flowers, and Rūta hurried after, with only the hope of catching the hedgehog in their hearts.

Lt: Po keleto įtemptų akimirkų, Pilkis privertė juos sukti aklavietėje - prie senojo tilto per ežerą.
En: After a few tense moments, Pilkis trapped them at a dead end - by the old bridge over the lake.

Lt: Ežiukas pasijuto kampuose, žiūrėjo į Gintarą su didelėmis, nerimastingomis akimis.
En: The hedgehog felt cornered, looking at Gintaras with big, anxious eyes.

Lt: Draugai nurimo ir Rūta švelniai priartėjo prie Pilkio.
En: The friends calmed down, and Rūta gently approached Pilkis.

Lt: "Bijok ne, Pilkis," - šnabždėjo ji, - "Mes tau nepakenksim.
En: "Don't be afraid, Pilkis," she whispered, "We won't hurt you."

Lt: "Lengva ranka Rūta paglobo savo mylimą ežiuką, o Gintaras su Egle kvėpavo giliai, džiaugdamasis, kad mažasis pabėgėlis sugrįžo saugus.
En: With a gentle hand, Rūta rescued her beloved hedgehog, while Gintaras and Eglė breathed a sigh of relief, glad that the little escapee had returned safely.

Lt: Ilgam įsiminė diena, kai iš bulvės netikėtai atsirado ežiukas ir padovanojo netikėtą nuotykį draugams, apkabinusiems vieni kitus prie nuostabaus Trakų pilies vaizdo.
