mostra di piùI really appreciated this conversation with Suzanne Falter, an extremely busy woman who was forced to stop and re-prioritize her life after a tragedy. Now she takes her experience and wisdom and shares with other women how to take care of ourselves so we can be the most whole, best versions of ourselves.
Take-aways:
-The first key to self-care is understanding what you need
-Establish healthy boundaries - we have to retrain others and ourselves
-Ask others for help. Other people WANT to help you!
-Take action, but keep it simple
-Build a solid self-care practice into your day. Schedule time for self-care, including time to do nothing at all
-The two main causes of being extremely busy and feeling burned out are not wanting to ask for help and feeling guilty for caring for yourself
-When you focus on yourself, you are making sure your needs get met, which will make you a more whole, better person
-Continually ask yourself “what do I need right now?”
-Take a walk in nature
