Today is Day 1628 of our Trek, and it’s time for another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

A Pencil And A Dream
We tend to overcomplicate our lives at times. We feel that we have to have all the details worked out and detailed plans created to accomplish our goals and objectives. We feel we need sophisticated planners or software not to miss the opportunities that may come our way. While there is nothing inherently wrong with planning and achieving all that you can, we need to be cautious. What we need to do is to pause, take a breath, and think of how we can un-complicate our lives. While software and planners may be tools that can help us, they are not a necessity. As with so many things in our lives, which we perceive as needs, they are just desires that may cause us more stress and complicate our lives. The saying, “the more you own, the more those same possessions own you,” is so true. What if we took a minimalistic view our of lives and pursued simplicity? We can do so much with so little. A #2 pencil and your dreams can be a start that can take you anywhere you desire. Just sketch it out with the mindset that an enjoyable life is lived with simplicity and freedom. Yes, use your God-given talents and abilities to do your best and bring honor to His name. As you do so, though, keep in mind that God does not desire to create stress and havoc in your life. He came to give us a rich and satisfying life.
