Uk: Великий, непересічний, Іван, вперто дивився на киянську міську бруківку, намагаючись збагнути, куди він потрапив.
En: The Great, extraordinary Ivan stubbornly stared at the Kyivan cobblestone, trying to figure out where he ended up.

Uk: Глухий звук музики відбивався від старовинних стін будівлі, з якої вона тече.
En: The muffled sound of music echoed off the ancient walls of the building it was pouring from.

Uk: Він штовхнув масивні двері і увійшов, спотикнувшись про власні ноги, дивуючись собі самому.
En: He pushed the massive doors and entered, stumbling over his own feet, amazed at himself.

Uk: То було незвичне місце, яке мали на увазі, мабуть, католицькі церкві, кажуть, в костьолах так.
En: It was an unusual place, probably resembling Catholic churches, they say it's like that in cathedrals.

Uk: У середині голubim простором крутилися і перекручувалися люди, танцюючи за схоже стрімким ритмом.
En: Inside, people swirled and contorted in a blue spaciousness, dancing to a similar frantic rhythm.

Uk: Іван знепокоєно подивився на все це, не розуміючи, як чи що тут треба робити.
En: Ivan looked at it all with concern, not understanding what he was supposed to do here.

Uk: Він прийшов сюди випадково.
En: He had come here by chance.

Uk: За завісою всісвітніх обставин він керувавсь у пошук стін старого Києва, вдало погубивши свій шлях.
En: Through the curtain of universal circumstances, he had been guided in search of the walls of old Kyiv, successfully losing his way.

Uk: І ось він тут, на уроці танцю - місці, де він найменш очікував себе знайти.
En: And here he was, at a dance lesson - the place where he least expected to find himself.

Uk: Придивляючись, подив мінявся на щось схоже на надію.
En: As he looked closer, his gaze transformed into something resembling hope.

Uk: "Я завжди хотів навчитись танцювати," він гнучко згадав про це, коротко посміхнувшись.
En: "I've always wanted to learn how to dance," he recalled it flexibly, briefly smiling.

Uk: Він встав у ряд, який монахині спорадично підсовували, і попробував наслідувати рухи інших.
En: He joined the line that the nuns sporadically pushed him into and tried to imitate the movements of others.

Uk: Різкі рухи, пружні стрибки, огидні оберти.
En: Sharp movements, lively jumps, nauseating twirls.

Uk: Іван не знав жодного кроку і був далекий від відчуття ритму, але він намагався.
En: Ivan didn't know any steps and was far from feeling the rhythm, but he tried.

Uk: І тут він затанцював, падаючи і схоплюючись за стрижні, не використовуючи іншого вибору, крім як продовжувати танцювати.
En: And there he danced, falling and grabbing onto the poles, with no choice but to keep on dancing.

Uk: Люди моло навколо, а Іван продовжував свої незграбні рухи, ледве встигаючи за темпом.
En: People laughed around him, yet Ivan continued his clumsy moves, barely keeping up with the pace.

Uk: Він зрозумів, можливо надто пізно, що тримав ногу вгору, тоді як все, що треба було зробити, це крокувати вперед і назад, але він не бався.
En: Perhaps, possibly too late, he realized that he had been lifting his leg while all he had to do was step forward and backward, but he didn't care.

Uk: В кінці уроку, коли він виповнив усі дії (як-то досконало, як тільки вмів), Іван спостерігав, як люди дивилися на нього з усмішками, і він був задоволений.
En: At the end of the lesson, when he had performed all the actions (as perfectly as he could), Ivan observed people looking at him with smiles, and he was content.
