Story Transcript:

Lt: Vėjai šnabždėjo senamiesčio kampuose, o Vilniaus širdyje, mažoje tradicinėje lietuviškoje kavinėje, susirinko trys draugai: Jonas, Giedrė ir Eglė.
En: The winds whispered in the corners of the old town, and in the heart of Vilnius, in a small traditional Lithuanian café, three friends gathered: Jonas, Giedrė, and Eglė.

Lt: Jie seniai buvo neišvykę iš miesto šurmulio ir nusprendė skaniai papietauti.
En: They had long been away from the hustle and bustle of the city and decided to enjoy a delicious lunch.

Lt: Žmonių būrys tryško pro kavinių duris, o paukščiai dainavo ant stogo.
En: Crowds of people streamed through the café doors, and birds sang on the roof.

Lt: Jonas pasirinko sėdėti prie lango, norėdamas mėgautis senojo miesto vaizdais.
En: Jonas chose to sit by the window, wanting to enjoy the views of the old city.

Lt: Jis užsakė savo mėgstamą baltą borschtą, bet kai patiekalas buvo padėtas priešais jį, nepatogus judesys ir raudonos sriubos skrydis prasidėjo – štai jis – šiltas borschtas nusidažė ant Jono baltos marškinėlių.
En: He ordered his favorite white borscht, but when the dish was placed in front of him, an uncomfortable movement and the flight of the red soup began – there it was – warm borscht stained Jonas' white shirt.

Lt: Giedrė stengėsi nesusijuokti iš draugo nelaimės, bet Eglė, visada turinti kišenėje sprendimą, greitai pasiūlė pagalbą.
En: Giedrė tried not to laugh at her friend's misfortune, but Eglė, always having a solution in her pocket, quickly offered help.

Lt: Ji atidžiai tyrinėjo dėmę ir nurodė Jonui nueiti į artimiausią būtą pas senolę, kuri, esą, viską žino apie dėmių šalinimą.
En: She carefully examined the stain and suggested that Jonas should go to the nearest old lady's house, who, supposedly, knew everything about removing stains.

Lt: Jonas turėjo rasti sprendimą.
En: Jonas had to find a solution.

Lt: Jis paliko Giedrę ir Eglę mėgautis savo pietumis ir iškeliavo į gatves, kuriose laikas tarsi sustojo.
En: He left Giedrė and Eglė to enjoy their lunch and set off into the streets where time seemed to stand still.

Lt: Greitai surado būtą, kurios langas buvo išpuoštas senoviškomis užuolaidėlėmis.
En: He quickly found the house, the window of which was adorned with antique curtains.

Lt: Senolė buvo labai draugiška ir iskilusią problemą išsprendė vieno dviejų – pasiūlė naudoti seną lietuvišką gudrybę, sūrus pieną.
En: The old lady was very friendly and quickly solved the pressing issue – she suggested using an old Lithuanian trick, sour milk.

Lt: Jonas abejojo, bet nusprendė pasitikėti.
En: Jonas hesitated, but decided to trust her.

Lt: Stulbinamai, baltas audinys vėl tapo nepriekaištingu.
En: Astonishingly, the white fabric became pristine once again.

Lt: Grįžęs į kavinę su švariomis marškinėlėmis, Jonas surado, kad Giedrė ir Eglė jį kantriai laukia, o staliukas papuoštas desertu: šviežiai keptais šakotis ir karštu žolelių arbata.
En: Returning to the café with clean shirt, Jonas found Giedrė and Eglė patiently waiting for him, and the table adorned with dessert: freshly baked šakotis and hot herbal tea.

Lt: Diena baigėsi linksmybėmis ir šypsena Jono veide.
En: The day ended with joy and a smile on Jonas' face.

Lt: Jis suprato, kad net nedaugelis nevykusių akimirkų gali atvesti prie pačių mieliausių nuotykių ir naujų išmoktų pamokų.
En: He realized that even a few unsuccessful moments could lead to the dearest experiences and new lessons learned.

Lt: Ir kas galėjo pagalvoti – kad borschtas gali būti ne tik sotus pietus, bet ir linksmų atsiminimų pradžia.
En: And who would have thought – that borscht could be not only a hearty lunch, but also the beginning of fond memories.
