Story Transcript:

Sr: Jutro u Beogradu je osvitalo toplo i suncano.
En: Tomorrow morning in Belgrade dawned warm and sunny.

Sr: Jovan je prosao kroz uspavane ulice glavnog grada, dok su zraci sunca polako budili grad.
En: Jovan walked through the quiet streets of the capital city as the sun's rays slowly woke up the city.

En: He decided to start his day with his favorite breakfast, so he headed towards a popular bakery that made the best burek in town.

En: "There's definitely going to be a crowd," thought Jovan as he approached the bakery.

En: Milena was already there, the owner of the bakery, cheerfully greeting her customers.

En: The service was fast, but a line had formed due to the morning influx of people eager for freshly baked treats.

Sr: "Idem ja posle tebe," rece Jovan coveku ispred sebe, ne pogledavsi ga dobro.
En: "I'll go after you," Jovan said to the man in front of him, without really looking at him.

Sr: Covek se okrenu i nasmesi, a Jovan se iznenadi.
En: The man turned around and smiled, surprising Jovan.

Sr: "Stefane, jesi li to ti?
En: "Stefan, is that you?"

Sr: " povika iznenadjeno.
En: he exclaimed.

Sr: Covek ispred njega nije bio njegov dugo izgubljeni rodjak Stefan, vec poznati srpski političar.
En: The man in front of him wasn't his long-lost cousin Stefan, but a well-known Serbian politician.

En: The politician laughed and said, "People often tell me I look like someone else.

En: I'm not your relative, but it sounds like you'd be happy to see him."

Sr: "Jovan se izvinuo i pomesa se nazad u red.
En: Jovan apologized and shuffled back into line.

En: Milena, who had been watching the whole thing, laughed cheerfully.

En: "Jovan, a burek is just a burek, but you managed to bring excitement into this morning routine today," said Milena.

En: The political figure took his burek and left with a smile, while the others in line waited for their turn for their favorite breakfast.

En: Despite the mix-up, Jovan enjoyed his adventure in the bakery and laughed at his mistake as the flavors of the burek filled his mouth and thoughts.

En: In the end, everyone enjoyed their breakfast, and Jovan felt good.

En: He didn't encounter his cousin, but he earned a story that he would remember for a long time.

En: In a good mood and satisfied, he continued his day with a smile on his face, determined to remember to use this funny anecdote well the next time he saw his friends.
