Betsy Wurzel Host of Chatting with Betsy interview is with R. Amanda Cooper, Graduate Teaching Assistant on research she has worked on for the relationship between Alzheimer’s Patient and the Caring Spouse and how this research can help all individuals involved.
“Amanda study close relationships in times of transition or difficulty. In her research, Amanda looks for ways of communication behaviors that can shape relationships and make them better. In her master’s thesis, She looked specifically at the relationship between people with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregiving spouses. She conducted in-depth interviews with 18 Alzheimer’s caregivers and found several ways that communication helps them address the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease and maintain a sense of closeness in their relationships.”
