Kia ora, Talofa, Ma’lelei, Bula, Aloha and Welcome to Season 09 Episode 61 of Breakfast Bites, by TEIVOVOdigital.com – a wrap of Pasifika people’s sports news, on a sunny and bright Friday morning 07 June 2024.

Coming to you with tons of hanisi from the 180th meridian, in the middle of the blue continent.
In rugby union: Our world famous tips for the Super Rugby Pacific quarterfinals kicking off at 7pm tonight, the Chiefs to rumble the Reds in Hamilton, the Hurricanes to rambo the Rebels in Wellington on Saturday at 4.35pm, the Fijian Drua to bimbo the Blues at 7.05pm at Eden Park and the Brumbies to hullaballoo the Highlanders at 9.35pm in Canberra.

In rugby league: Queensland Maroons try machine Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has a message that will send shivers down the spine of NSW fans: he's just getting started.

It's a concerning thought for Blues supporters after the flying Dolphin scored a hat-trick in Wednesday night's 38-10 victory in ORIGIN I.

Tabuai-Fidow is looking to do even better when the Maroons look to close out the series in Melbourne on 26 June.

Meanwhile, in the historic Women’s State of Origin Series, the Maroons forced an ORIGIN III decider against the NSW Sky Blues after a heart-stopping 11-10 win in very wet conditions in front of a record-breaking 25,872 fans at McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle last night.

Queensland didn’t lead all game until Lauren Brown slotted a field goal from 25M out to edge the Maroons ahead with two minutes left on the clock.

In Football: The Italians have been placed in arguably the toughest group, and will start the defence of their EURO 2024 title with a game against Albania next Friday 14 June, before massive games against Spain six days later, and another tough task against Croatia on Monday 24 June.

In the NBA: There is a record 13 international players on the Celtics and Mavericks combined teams, setting a new record for an NBA Finals matchup.

Led by Luka Dončić of Slovenia, the series also features players from Australia, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Latvia, Portugal and Ukraine.

This comes after a record 125 international players from 40 countries were on opening-night rosters for the start of the NBA season.

In SportsBiz: Formula One Racing Mexican star, Sergio Perez has signed a contract extension with Red Bull Racing, the team he has helped win the constructors’ championship the previous two seasons.

Financial details were not released, but Pérez is said to be earning US$14Million this season.

That’s a lot of Pesos amigo!

And that’s a wrap!
