21 DIC 2021 · Movies and Martial Arts go hand in hand, in fact it could be argued without movies martial arts wouldn't be as widespread as it is now. What films influenced you, and the team? What skills did you think, if not hope, might exist in some secret temple or hidden school? What myths did you want to be true? Are kicks realistic or merely inventive gymnastics from the legends such as Bruce Lee and JCVD? Is Karate Kid the reason why you started martial arts? Where are movies going now? Have they lost the art of the training montage and mentor? How did The RAID and Bourne franchise move screen martial arts to another more realistic level? Has MMA replaced the classic martial arts film? How do the public find their way to martial arts if they aren't inspired by movies?

6 DIC 2021 · DK YOO online martial arts sensation, and self proclaimed modern day Bruce Lee challenged Brad Scott, a retired UFC, MMA fighter. Brad accepted on 6 days notice, flew from holiday, unprepared. Anyone hoping for a 1st minute KO would be disappointed because DK Yoo somehow survived 18 minutes. He survived with a lot of questionable tactics, not least continuous falling to the floor, clinching, turning his back on his opponent, and more clinching etc….
Brad had said he didn't want to seriously hurt him so would only punch to the body not the head and this allowed DK Yoo to exceed expectations and last the fight. DK Yoo did not win, he comprehensively lost, in spite of or... because of various factors... perhaps the best that can be said is that he got in the ring. Was it worth watching? No, not at all. Take a look and see what you think.
What's next for DK Yoo? A fight with Xiu Xiaodong whilst much trumpeted is extremely unlikely to happen, especially now. Will he return to exhibiting his movie like skills online or a more serious match up with a traditional martial artist... who knows? Do you care? His supporters probably will.
