“The Cotton Club Murders”

At the time, director Francis Ford Coppola and producer Robert Evans were developing the film, a period crime drama loosely inspired by the original club. Radin was found murdered execution-style in a remote canyon in California. The killing was eventually tied to a tangled web involving cocaine-fueled ambition, mob connections, and a bitter feud over money tied to the movie’s production. William Randolph Hearst
William Randolph Hearst was a newspaper publisher, media mogul, and politician. He all but created yellow journalism (also known as tabloid journalism), focusing on sensationalism over facts to sell more newspapers. He made the blueprint for sensationalized, politicized, and profit-driven media. He owned 28 major newspapers, 18 magazines, radio stations, and film companies.
Hearst was one of the first media moguls to become a public figure. Now we have Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch, and others who are part of the news and control it. In other words, we probably wouldn’t have Fox News without Hearst. Gee, thanks, you creep.

“The Disappearance of Bobby Dunbar” (1912)
Season 29, Episode 1
Margo & Sonia love us a creepy historical crime, and what is more puzzling than the case of Bobby Dunbar? In 1912, four-year-old Bobby Dunbar vanished during a family trip to Swayze Lake, Louisiana, sparking a massive search. Eight months later, a boy resembling Bobby was found with a handyman, William Walters, who insisted the child was Bruce Anderson, the son of Julia Anderson. Despite her claims, the Dunbars took the boy and raised him as Bobby. In 2004, DNA testing confirmed he was not biologically related to the Dunbars, meaning the real Bobby Dunbar's fate remains unknown, making this one of history’s most haunting cases of mistaken identity.
