Jake + Mitch dive into the first few episodes of UMBRELLA ACADEMY s3. With The Sparrow squad hitting at full-force in yet another multiverse-type situation the Hargreeves find themselves facing more epic moments.
So what are the biggest takeaways so far?:
- Sparrows vs Umbrellas: Who wins?
- Are we headed for multiverse fatigue?
- Is Luther a Scott Summers avatar?
With "we mind be responsible for the end of the world" type stuff looming, surely the original Hargreeves crew will find a way to save the world... again. Either way, UA remains incredibly fun.

Jake + Mitch break down the all the vibrant fun to be had in the early goings of MCU's latest TV installment, 'Ms. Marvel'. Because this show, at least one episode deep, feels like it's going to be a game-changer.

- What do Kamala Kahn and Peter Parker have in common?
- Is 'Ms. Marvel' more akin to 'WandaVision' or 'FATWS'?
- Is the immersive tone replicable?
Ultimately, the MCU seems to be on a roll with the high-quality TV titles. We'll see how the rest of the season sticks the landing after a strong start.

Jake + Mitch trek back to 2016 and dive back into one of the more start-studded MCU installments, 'Doctor Strange'. Because the familiar as the character has become it still feels like this movie still flies a little under the radar.

- Can a move be good and "mid" at the same time?
- What if Rachel McAdams was The Wasp?
- Top 5 comic book movie ending of all-time?
Through epic set pieces and impeccable effects, 'Doctor Strange' delivers on the entertainment factor. But somehow, it still lacks gusto.

1 APR 2022 · Everyone's favorite sub-series is back! This time we're going indie AND mainstream.
Jake + Mitch strap on their fan-casting capes for another round of, "wouldn't it be cool if this project were green-lit?" Shut-Up and Give it to Me, Vol. VII hits a few familiar stops along the way while also promising some good old fashioned randomness.
[They also dish on the latest Oscar winners for five minutes because... why not?]
Here's a snapshot of what the guys consider their next round of "passion projects":
- Steven Soderbergh finally gets a JFK conspiracy flick.
- TMNT goes dark with 'The Last Ronin' getting the Spider-Verse treatment.
- Could HBO Max give us a Superman anthology series that's not about Superman?
- Is 'Mind Mngmt' adaptable for the screen? Denis V. says, "yes", right?
Even if they're pie-in-the-sky, all these projects feel oddly tangible which only adds to the excitement. So, yeah, if any streaming platform wants to make one (or all) of these ideas comes to life, call us!

Bat-Pat has landed and he is feeling a lot of things.
Jake + Mitch go long on the latest of the Caped Crusader canon and dish on Matt Reeves', 'The Batman'. Needless to say, complicated feelings abound for this detective flick and most of it comes back to how close it came to being transcendent.
Along the way the guys ask:
- Was three really hours necessary?
- Is Battinson the best don the cowl?
- Is it possible to enjoy a move and still wish it had a different director?
At the end of the day the movie brought the goods and we have even more goodness to look forward to. Even if that means re-casting Alfred.

Jake + Mitch break down the latest 'Dr. Strange 2' trailer and prepare to go deep into the multiverse. Because this movie is going to be extra in the uniquely campy-yet-thriller-ish way that only Raimi can capture.

Jake + Mitch are joined by special guests Matt & Lauren from the Hops Geek News Podcast to re-visit the MCU Christmas flick, 'Iron Man 3'. Because the best way to close out Iron Man month is to break down a flawed movie with friends.
Along the way, the crew tackles a few big topics:
- Is Gwyneth Paltrow miscast?
- Was The Mandarin MacGuffin necessary?
- Did Tony really need to blow up all those extra suits?
Out of all the titles in the Marvel cinematic universe, no one can argue that 'Iron Man 3' is certainly one of them. At the end of the day, that may be the title's enduring legacy and that's... totally fine. Right?

Iron Man month continues as Jake + Mitch re-visit the long lost MCU sequel, 'Iron Man 2'. Because even though it may not have transformed the arena, it's entirely possible that a second installment can be a little less than and still be fabulous.
Along the way, the guys ask the tough questions:
- Is 'Iron Man 2' the 'Rocky III' of the MCU?
- Mickey Rourke as Whiplash: Perfect Casting?
- In a post-Endgame world, is 'Iron Man 2' the tipping point for Tony Stark's character?
Here we are 12 years later and 'Iron Man 2' feels like one of the least re-watched comic book flicks while somehow remaining impeccably re-watchable. Leave it to RDJ and the gang to remind us of what's fun at the cinema.

To kick-off Iron Man Month, Jake + Mitch re-visit the movie that started it all, John Favreau's IRON MAN. Because awesome as the MCU is, it's hard to imagine the comic book movie renaissance taking form without this landmark installment.
Along the way, the guys hit a few questions:
- Does the MCU become the MCU without Robert Downey Jr.?
- Remember when leading with Iron Man was considered a gamble?
- Is Tony Stark relatable?
Stylish, fun, epic, and really, really cool it comes as no surprise that IRON MAN still delivers the goods all these years later. And we're still marveling over Jeff Bridges bringing his awesomeness to this movie.
