24 OTT 2026 · On the night of January 8, 1993, two young men walked into a Brown's Chicken & Pasta in Palatine, Illinois, just before closing. Seven people never walked out: owners Richard and Lynn Ehlenfeldt, cook Guadalupe Maldonado, Thomas Mennes, Marcus Nellsen, and two high-school students, Michael Castro, 16, and Rico Solis, 17. The Brown's Chicken massacre became one of the most notorious unsolved crimes in Chicago history.
There were no witnesses and no shell casings. A wrongful arrest, a false confession and a scathing 1997 watchdog report followed. For nine years the answer sat in an evidence freezer: a half-eaten chicken dinner ordered minutes before the murders. In 2002, DNA from that meal — and a frightened woman who had kept the secret since 1993 — pointed to Juan Luna and James Degorski. Both were convicted and are serving life without parole.

Geraldine "Gerry" Largay, 66, a retired nurse from Tennessee known on the Appalachian Trail as "Inchworm", steps off the trail for a bathroom break — and cannot find it again. At 11:01 a.m. she types a text to her husband George: "In somm trouble. Got off trail to go to br. Now lost." It never sends.
She makes camp on a wooded knoll, keeps a journal, builds a flag from a branch and clothing, tries to light a fire. One of the largest searches in Maine Warden Service history passes within about 100 yards of her tent. Nobody sees it.
On October 14, 2015, a forestry contractor surveying U.S. Navy land finds a collapsed tent about 3,000 feet from the trail. Inside: her journal, her phone with the unsent messages, her map, rosary beads — and an entry dated August 6, 2013: "When you find my body, please call my husband George and my daughter Kerry…" She had survived at least 26 days.
Built from the Maine Warden Service case file (released May 2016, 1,500+ pages), the Office of Chief Medical Examiner's finding, and the reporting of the Portland Press Herald and the Boston Globe.

24 OTT 2026 · Paris, Friday October 29, 1965, late afternoon. Mehdi Ben Barka — 45, Moroccan, in exile, the best-known opponent of King Hassan II — is standing on the pavement outside the Brasserie Lipp on boulevard Saint-Germain. Two French police officers ask him to follow them to a car. He is never seen again.
Sixty years later there is still no body, no grave, and no final official account. The French judicial inquiry, opened in 1975 after a complaint by his son Bachir, is described as the oldest open case in France. In July 2025 a new investigating judge heard Bachir Ben Barka for two hours; he said the inquiry "is not at a standstill".
This film sticks to what is documented: the 1967 Paris trial (Morocco's interior minister General Oufkir sentenced to life in absentia), the death sentence Morocco had pronounced against Ben Barka in absentia, the 1975 complaint, the archive catalogues, and the 2025 hearing — and says clearly where the record stops.

22 OTT 2026 · In 1981, Bill Ott spent 78 days walking the length of the Grand Canyon — the first person known to complete the traverse on the north side. On April 5, 2012, at 65, he set out alone again: a three-week trek into Mohawk Canyon, on Hualapai tribal land, searching for ancient rock-art panels he had spent years photographing and digitally restoring.
He was due back on April 28. He never came out.
A multi-agency search found boot prints — and nothing else. For more than thirteen years the case stayed open. Then, in December 2025, members of the Hualapai Tribe found human remains at the foot of a low cliff, close to where the searchers had been. On July 1, 2026, DNA confirmed it was Bill Ott. The cause of death is still unknown.
This is the full case, built from the Coconino County Sheriff's Office statement, NamUs, and the field notes of anthropologist Scott Thybony, Bill's friend, who was on the 2012 search.

17 OTT 2026 · On February 3, 1993, two students walked into the prosecutor's office in Casablanca and accused a senior police commissioner — the head of the district's intelligence service — of rape, violence and unlawful confinement. Days later, gendarmes searched a flat linked to him and reported seizing cameras, records and 118 video tapes. Six months after that, Mohamed Mustapha Tabet, known as "Hajj Tabet", was executed at Kenitra Central Prison. Morocco has not carried out an execution since.

CASE 1 — THE SODDER CHILDREN (Fayetteville, West Virginia, 24 December 1945). The family home burns; five of the ten children are never found — no bones, no teeth. A cut phone line, a moved ladder, tampered trucks. A billboard on Route 16 asked for answers for decades.
CASE 2 — THE YUBA COUNTY FIVE (California, 24 February 1978). Five friends drive home from a basketball game and turn the wrong way into the snowbound Plumas National Forest. Four are found months later; one never.
CASE 3 — MAURA MURRAY (Haverhill, New Hampshire, 9 February 2004). A nursing student crashes on Route 112 and vanishes in the ten minutes before police arrive.
