Born Darius Lawson on May 25, 1979 in Birmingham, AL where he developed a love of music early. Around the age of 8 he was changing out records for family house parties. After noticing the reaction of the party goers, it was at that instant that he knew he wanted to become a DJ. Following the lead of his older cousin DJ Doe who gave him the opportunity to follow and learn how to set up and break down the equipment. DJ Whitebread learned style and technique from many local radio DJs. Starting out on his own with 1 turntable, a RadioShack mixer, the top half of A CD/tape deck boom box and a pair of Kenwood House speakers he began to do school parties with the help of DJ Doe. He spent many hours in local record stores searching for the perfect records to rock the party. In April of 1996, his Jr year at Ramsay High, he was called on to DJ the Military Ball and that was the official beginning of DJ Whitebread. He went on to Miles College and performed at multiple clubs and events. This is where he was discovered and began doing Radio mix shows and being the show DJ for 10 Toes Down Ent. DJ Whitebread joined the military and continued to DJ for a variety of MWR events. DJ Whitebread has performed at many different functions and has toured with many artist. Playing a variety of music from old school and R&B to house and trance. He has performed in various clubs and arenas of all sizes all over the world. DJ Whitebread has done overseas tours performing in Korea, Germany, Australia, Kuwait, Ireland and even Iraq for the troops.

He is the people’s DJ with only one goal and that is to make you have the best party experience possible. Darius “DJ Whitebread” Lawson recently held the positions of DJ Coordinator, Assistant Program Director and On air Personality for WGFX Goodfellasradio.net and the Host of The Mixx Up - Your Daily Dose Of Fun at the Office. Now DJ Whitebread is the Senior Production Engineer with Hip Hop Live Radio. Currently the Programming Director for Parental Advisori Blazin 420 Radio. DJ Whitebread works with various charities such as Breast Cancer Awareness, BAO (Birmingham Aids Outreach) and Toys for Tots. He feels that if he can help someone in anyway then his life is not in vain.
