Robert Reich photo: Wikipedia Public Domain
Good evening! I want to talk about some of Robert Reich's recent posts that have been getting a lot of attention. Many people find his views really interesting, and he has a unique take on current events.
One of his posts got people talking with the question: "Why does Trump hate Sesame Street?" This is a fascinating topic because Sesame Street is loved for teaching kids values like kindness and inclusivity, which some feel clashes with Trump’s often divisive statements.
Reich also tackled the issue of bullying, highlighting its effects on our society. He points out that bullying isn't just something that happens at school—it reflects bigger problems in our culture and politics. His insights connects with a lot of people, especially now when bullying can occur online too.
He frequently shares his thoughts on the president and the state of America through social media, encouraging people to think critically about the world. His followers value his ability to break down complex political issues into understandable ideas.
With decades of experience, including working in various presidential administrations and a successful teaching career, Robert Reich is a respected voice. His books and talks continue to influence many, making him an important figure in discussions about America's economy and politics.
For those of us who follow him, listening to Reich gives us a chance to learn something new and think about important topics. His perspective not only informs us but also encourages us to think about the kind of society we want to create for the future. I’m Gail Nobles. Thank you for listening to The Jasper Lines. 18 DIC 2025 · KENNEDY LEGACY CONTINUES
Joseph Patrick Kennedy III

In the world of American politics, the Kennedy family has long been a name associated with leadership and change. Often, we hear about John F. Kennedy, the 35th President, and his brother Robert F. Kennedy, who was also a senator and a presidential candidate. These brothers left a significant mark on history, but now, a new member of the Kennedy family is stepping into the spotlight: Joseph Patrick Kennedy III.
Joseph, often called Joe, comes from a strong political lineage. He is the son of Joseph P. Kennedy II, a U.S. Representative. His grandfather, Robert F. Kennedy, was known for his work as a U.S. Senator and his run for the presidency. Joe's granduncle, John F. Kennedy, served as President, while his great-grandfather, Joseph P. Kennedy Sr., was an ambassador to the United Kingdom. This impressive family history sets the stage for Joe Kennedy's own journey.
As a politician, Joseph Kennedy III has focused on several important issues. He advocates for civil rights, emphasizing equality for all people. He also supports marijuana legalization, which aims to change laws around cannabis use. Climate change is another major issue for him, as he believes in taking action to protect the environment. Additionally, he is concerned about racial inequality and advocates for healthcare improvements to ensure that everyone has access to medical services.
With such a wide range of political interests, Joseph Kennedy III appears to be a busy man. His background, deeply rooted in public service, suggests he is committed to making a difference in the lives of Americans. As the country continues to face new challenges, many are watching to see how he will carry on the Kennedy legacy in this modern era.

Despite the downturn in local journalism, I still aspire to own my own newspaper. Long before I became aware of the decline in newspapers, I would explore online options to create and purchase my own publication. I even published a few pages with the newspaper club, though the costs felt steep for me. Nonetheless, all I wanted was to see my very own newspaper in print with my name on it.
Everything seemed to be moving towards digital formats. I found myself wondering, "Why would they not prefer the classic way of consuming news?" There's a unique experience in turning the pages; you can physically feel them in your hands. Printed newspapers are visually stunning. I appreciate the columns and the vibrant photographs.
I've been truly impressed with the newspaper companies due to their ability to gather and spread information quickly. I've even imagined what it would be like to own a building and run a team of people dedicated to writing and printing stories.
Even now, I still want to own my own newspaper. When I started podcasting, I turned my newspaper idea into a podcast and a blog.

17 SET 2025 · Story: The Story of Arjun & His Turban
Cover & Story by: Gail Nobles © 2025
There was a man in the land of India, named Arjun. He was a humble farmer, wise in heart and diligent in labor. Upon his head, he wore a white turban, for it was his heritage and a sign of his faith.
Arjun traveled to a distant city, where the people knew not the customs of his land. As he entered the marketplace, many beheld his turban with strange eyes. Some whispered among themselves, saying, “Look at him! He is different from us.” And others pointed and scoffed, for they did not understand the beauty of his traditions.
Yet in his heart, Arjun bore no anger. He walked among them with humility, greeting each with a gentle smile. “Peace be upon you,” he said, extending his hand in friendship. But the people turned away, for they were blinded by their ignorance.
As the days passed, a great drought fell upon the land, and the people found their crops withering under the sun's fierce gaze. Fear gripped their hearts, and they gathered in the marketplace, seeking a solution to their plight.
Arjun, seeing their desperation, stepped forth and said, “Let us combine our efforts and bring forth our strengths. I shall share my knowledge of the earth and how to nourish it.”
Some among the crowd scoffed, saying, “What can he teach us, with his strange attire and foreign ways?” But one woman, seeing the kindness in his eyes, spoke up, “He has come from far, and his wisdom may be our salvation.”
Thus, the people hesitated, but in their hearts, they yearned for hope. They followed Arjun to his fields, where he showed them how to care for the soil, how to seek water from the depths, and nurture the crops with love and care.
In time, the land blossomed once more, and fruit hung heavy upon the branches. The people rejoiced, and their hearts turned to Arjun. “Forgive us, friend,” they said, “for we have judged you by your appearance and not by the light of your spirit.”
And Arjun, filled with compassion, replied, “Just as the sun shines upon all, regardless of their hue, let us learn to embrace one another. For it is not the outward garments that define us, but the kindness we carry within.”
With the prosperity that followed, Arjun sought a new path and found a place for himself in a restaurant, where he shared his culinary skills and his joy of cooking with all who came to dine. There he worked day after day, pouring his heart into each dish with the same love and care he had shown to his fields. The people of the city grew to cherish not just his meals, but the warmth he brought to their lives.
Years passed, and time graciously advanced upon Arjun. When the day of his retirement arrived, there was a great celebration in the restaurant, honoring the man who had become a beloved part of their community. The owners, who had learned from his wisdom and kindness, prepared a feast in his name. As they served him the finest dishes, they laughed and shared stories of the many moments Arjun had woven into their lives.
“Today, we honor you,” they said, “for you showed us that love is the greatest ingredient of all. You fed not just our bodies, but our spirits as well.”
Thus it was that the man with the turban, who once faced scorn and misunderstanding, became a treasured figure in the hearts of many. From farmer to chef, he had cultivated not only crops but relationships, sowing seeds of unity and joy wherever he went.
And so it was said, “In our diversity, we find strength, and in our hearts, we can sow the seeds of love.”

https://www.spreaker.com/episode/celebrating-mean-joe-green-8-30-25-1-14-pm--67563255 began as a blog with aspirations of becoming a newspaper, but generating continuous content like the New York Times is a challenge. That's why it started as a blog and has since evolved into a podcast.
I thought it would be wonderful to honor Mean Joe Greene by featuring him in my news. I vividly remember him from the iconic 1979 Coca-Cola commercial alongside Tommy Okon. In the ad, known as "Hey Kid, Catch!", young Okon offers the injured Steelers legend a bottle of Coke, which Greene graciously accepts, tossing his jersey to the boy in appreciation. I was about eight years old at the time and not particularly interested in football, but seeing Mean Joe Greene in that commercial piqued my interest in his highlights whenever I heard his name mentioned.
Mean Joe Greene was truly exceptional. I've never seen anyone play the game with the same intensity as he did. He definitely played the part of a fierce competitor.

Joe Johnson is a story of talent, of comeback, and, dare I say, of what might have been! Ten picks in the 2001 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics! A decade of promise, of flashes of brilliance, yes, but never, and I emphasize NEVER, quite achieving that championship zenith! The "Iso Joe" moniker? An isolation specialist, capable of scoring in bunches, but sometimes, just sometimes, a black hole on offense, demanding the ball, dictating the pace, perhaps to the disadvantage of the collective!
Then, the descent, the creeping shadows of age and declining effectiveness. The Pistons, a cup of coffee, a fleeting moment, a blip on the radar before being unceremoniously waived! Was this the end? Was this the final curtain for "Iso Joe?"
And then, The BIG3! A league of reclamation, of legends past their prime, and Johnson? He dominated! MVP! Championship! A phoenix rising from the ashes, proving that even in the twilight of a career, there's still fire in the belly, still that competitive spirit, that unquenchable thirst for victory!
But hold on! A brief return to the NBA! The Detroit Pistons, again! But the dream was fleeting, the opportunity vanished quicker than a politician's promise! Waived once more, leaving us scratching our heads, pondering the "what ifs" and "could have beens."
He tries the basketball tournament? Overseas Elite and a spot on the All-Tournament team. The man just won't quit
And the Big3 saga continues! From retirment to return.
This is a career defined by peaks and valleys, by moments of brilliance and periods of perplexing inconsistency! "Iso Joe," a riddle wrapped in a mystery, inside an isolation play! Will we see him in the NBA again? Perhaps. But even if he doesn't, one thing is certain: Joe Johnson, is a name, a player, that will always spark debate, always elicit strong opinions, and always remind us of the inherent drama, the glorious uncertainty, of the beautiful, unpredictable game of basketball! And you can take that...TO THE BANK!

I believe that Brandon Routh is the best Superman today. He has Christopher Reeve’s looks and personality for the character. Watching Superman Returns was like seeing Christopher Reeve in another millennium. When it comes to portraying Superman, Brandon Routh stands out in a way that feels almost magical. It’s as if he has harnessed the spirit of Christopher Reeve, whose portrayal of Superman in the late 1970s and 80s is often regarded as the gold standard.
Routh’s performance in "Superman Returns" is a celebration of what makes Superman so endearing. Those who grew up watching Reeve would find themselves pleasantly reminded of the charm and warmth that make Superman relatable. Routh shares those same qualities—his looks, his behavior, and his ability to act out the character.
When audiences first see Routh in the red and blue suit, it feels like a familiar face has returned. It’s more than just a physical resemblance; Routh captures the hopeful and heroic spirit of Superman. His portrayal reflects the balance of strength and sensitivity that are key to the character’s identity. Watching him take flight in "Superman Returns" felt like witnessing a beloved hero rise anew, evoking emotions as powerful as the man of steel himself.
Brandon Routh is not just a good Superman; he may well be the best Superman today. His turn in "Superman Returns" is a heartfelt homage to Christopher Reeve, bringing the character back to life in a way that transcends time. For fans of the franchise, it truly felt like a reunion—a moment where the legacy of Superman continues, and we are all too eager to embrace it.

Kamala Harris Comments On If Someone Breaks In
WHAT WOULD SHE DO?
I've been thinking about Vice President Kamala Harris and her recent talk with Oprah Winfrey. She’s someone in a high position, but she has a way of breaking down tough topics. One thing she said really stood out to me. it’s when she said that if anyone broke into her home, they were getting shot. That’s quite a bold statement coming from someone like her and I understood her very well.
Let’s be honest: a break-in isn’t just about someone being in your space; it’s a serious threat to your safety and peace of mind. Harris voiced something many people feel—who really wants to feel unsafe in their home? That’s supposed to be our safest place, right?
We all say that if someone breaks into your house, they’re most likely planning to kill you. We all know that when you lie you cheat - when you steal you kill.
Think about it for a moment—Harris is touching on a basic instinct: our home is our safe space. No one should be breaking into it. So it makes sense for her to take a strong stand on protecting her home. It’s a natural response, and she’s just being honest about how far she would go to protect herself and her family.
What’s interesting here is how she balances being a public figure while still showing a personal view that says, “I will protect my home." Her words remind us of our humanity, and that sometimes gets lost in political talk.
In the end, Kalama Harris is just like anyone else. Don’t forget that she’s human too. She understands fear and the need to feel safe so let’s appreciate that about the vice president after all her home is her sanctuary and she’s ready to protect it.
