mostra di piùMy name’s Ron Mills. I’m 82 years old… and I ain’t done yet.
Now I know somebody out there hearin’ that number and thinkin’, “Man… 82? Time to slow down.”
But let me tell you somethin’ real slow so it sinks deep into your spirit…
God don’t retire purpose.
And He sure don’t put a expiration date on the fire He placed inside your soul.
See, I come up outta Haines City, Florida… back when rock & roll wasn’t polished, it was raw.
Back when you didn’t need a million followers—you just needed a dream big enough to keep you up at night.
1959… I was just a young man with a sound in my chest I couldn’t quiet down.
So I started a band called The Blazers.
And Lord… we played anywhere they’d let us plug in.
Teen rec halls… youth centers… truck stops… dusty little stages where the lights flickered and the crowd didn’t care if you were famous—they just wanted to feel somethin’.
And I’ll never forget the first time I heard our song—“The Chase”—come through that radio on WLAK…
Whew…
That wasn’t just music.
That was confirmation.
That was God whisperin’,
“Boy… I gave you that sound. Now don’t you bury it.”
Life kept movin’ though…
People came… people went… bands changed… seasons shifted…
But hear me when I say this—
The calling never left.
Because when God plants somethin’ in you, it don’t age like your body…
It burns.
It waits.
It calls you back… over and over again.
And now here I am… 82 years later… still playin’, still writin’, still chasin’ that same fire.
Not because I’m tryin’ to prove somethin’ to the world…
But because I refuse to disrespect the gift God trusted me with.
Let me say this for the one who’s listenin’ right now, feelin’ like time done passed you by…
It ain’t over.
If there’s still breath in your lungs, there’s still purpose in your bones.
If your heart still beats, then heaven ain’t finished speakin’ through you yet.
I didn’t just see the early days of rock & roll in Polk County…
I helped build it.
And I’m still buildin’.
So don’t you sit there and tell yourself it’s too late…
Don’t you talk yourself outta what God already spoke over your life.
Because purpose don’t clock out…
And dreams don’t die unless you bury ‘em.
And me?
I ain’t buried nothin’.
This right here…
This is The Goodlife Sessions.
And as long as I got breath in me…
You gon’ hear my sound.
Yes sir… I’m still here.
Still creatin’.
Still believin’.
And I ain’t done yet.
