28 GIU 2016 · Join us for the study of the Creation in Romans 8 and Critique of N.T. Wright and a discussion of the New Covenant.
21 GIU 2016 · God does someting new, in and for his people, regarding the Joyful return of the exiles, Jer. 31:13, 15. The return of Israel from the temple, where the people would be sown as a crop. Then we have the new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Wright connects Romans 7:1-4 and 2:28-29 with Jer. 31:31-34 showing that even the Gentiles were able to receive the blessings of the Old Covenant through Christ.
Wright claims we already have the life in Christ and that we are already alive in Christ. The new location of people is to be the resurrection people. He looks at Ezk.36-37, as the gathering and the renewing of the heart of Israel.
Wright argues that the transformation of the Spirit belongs between the beginning and consummation of the doctrine of transformation. He argues the Spirit is temple theology, citing Phil. 1:5-6.
14 GIU 2016 · For the past several weeks we have discussed the Creation in Romans 8 by critiqing N.T. Wright. Does Romans 8 teach a renovation of the earth and all the creatures in it. Are they to be included in the manifestation of the sons of God? This is the view that Wright maintains although he sees much of the text related to the first century.
Join us for the next hour.
7 GIU 2016 · Tonight we continue the critique of N.T. Wright's presentation on the creation in Romans 8. The creation in Romans 8 is often used to teach about the material or sentient creation. Many believe it is a reference to the animals, insects and birds entering the kingdom of God. Is this a valid interpretation. Check it out today as we continue our study. 24 MAG 2016 · Romans 8 continues to be a pivotal chapter on the study of the creation and the resurrection. it has been tempting for some to interpret the creation as a reference to nature, inclusive of plants, trees, birds & bees, bugs and slugs and all in between. However, as pointed out in the previous week, Wright has admitted that the role of the Spirit is all about the 2nd Exodus. This is fatal to the paradigm of a renewed earth because the exodus works within a paradigm of 40 years, the exact same time between Pentecost and 70 AD.
The creation was waiting to be delivered into the sons of God. According to Luke 20:34-35, this is the time of the resurrection of the dead. It answers to the creation of Psalm 102:18 as the generation in the time to come.

17 MAG 2016 · Tonight a continuation of the Creatoin in Romans 8 by N.T. Wright focusing on the principle of the Second Exodus.
10 MAG 2016 · Tonight we review Session III of N.T. Wright's Study of the Creatoin in Roman's 8. Wright is saying all the correct things in terms of analysis but is making all the incorrect applications from what he states.
The reason is the timing of his eschatology is skewed. His tie-ins to the curse of Gen 3, the second Exodus, the new covenant and entrance int the new land are all great principles. He sees the end of the Torah in the phrase "works of the law" to be the end of the Sabbath, food regulations, and circumcision etc as that which separated Jew and Gentile.
These have found their fulfillment in the law of faith.
He has taught that what fulfills the law is the new covenant people. These events find their full expression in Paul's writings in Romans and particularly Romans 5-8.
3 MAG 2016 · Join Two Guys and A Bible for a continuation of the discussion of the Creation in Romans 8. We explore the meaning of the creation and respond to objections by those who advance that the Bible speaks of the redemption of nature, i.e. mosquitoes, snails and quails.
Romans 8 is the story of the redemption of man during the eschatological distress of the first century generation. Paul and the New Testament church were undergoing the sufferings of the present time while serving as firstfruits for the Old Covenant creation.
We will demonstrate that the creatoin involves rational beings who have will and the ability to choose but who were subjected to vanity by the one who gave them hope, i.e. desire plus expectation.

19 APR 2016 · On last week, we announced the study of Romans 8 but did not get the opportunity to address it. Today, Romans 8 is on the table and we will delve into the chapter on the broadcast. Make plans to be with us at 7pm Eastern.
Romans 8 is admittedly a challenging chapter especially when we do not have the correct paradigm or framework of Scripture. Most believe it is a discussion on the cosmic creation inclusive of animals, plants and the human creation in general. However, the language of the text provides interesting clues to caution such an interpretation.
For the next few weeks we will address the meaning of Romans 8 and the Creation establishing the context and meaning. This is one study you do not want to miss. It will help to unlock more of the Romans letter and other themes mentioned in the New Testament.
