4 GEN 2018 · This is a re-broadcast of STEM Voices that aired on April 26, 2017. We talk with Wendy Erikson, a contributor to Women and Drones. Wendy spent 25 years as a TV journalist before getting interested in drones. She began researching UAV technology, attended a couple conferences, bought a drone, and became an FAA Certified Remote Pilot. Women and Drones is the premiere global platform for women in the UAS industry. Women and Drones was started by Sharon Rossmark and covers stories about women from around the world who are doing exciting things with drones. The global platform also provides a place for women to connect, share ideas as well as preferences for products and services.  Women and Drones also supports efforts to inspire more girls in science, technology, engineering, arts and math, otherwise known STEM/STEAM. 

14 DIC 2017 · This is a re-broadcast of STEM Voices which aired on June 14, 2017 with Laura Sampson. She is currently postdoc at the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics at Penn State, where she is working on modeling measles epidemics.  Prior to switching to fields to epidemiology, Laura was a postdoctoral fellow in physics at Northwestern University’s Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) and focused her research on gravitational wave astrophysics. In 2016, she was one of five selected for The L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship. The program recognizes exemplary female scientists for their contributions in the STEM fields and for their commitment to serving as role models for younger generations. 

23 NOV 2017 · On the next podcast, we talk with astronomer Rachael Roettenbacher, who was awarded the 2017 Olivier Chesneau Prize for her doctoral thesis entitled “Shifting the Starspot Paradigm through Imaging Magnetic Structures and Evolution” where Rachael studied starspots on Zeta Andromedae. The Olivier Chesneau Prize commemorates astronomer Olivier Chesneau and is awarded for the best PhD thesis in High Angular Resolution Astronomy.  Rachael is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Stockholm University in Sweden and obtained her PhD at the University of Michigan. We interview Rachael at Grand Hotel in Stockholm. Rachael discusses her career path, her work in imaging the surfaces of spotted stars and more. 

1 NOV 2017 · This is a re-broadcast of the March 15, 2017 episode of STEM Voices with Dr. Kathleen Morse & Jeremy Zawodny of Yosemite Space. The company's primary focus is developing innovative products for Space applications. Members of Yosemite Space collectively have extensive experience developing innovative, reliable products for Space applications. The woman majority owned business was founded in 2012 by Dr. Kathleen Morse and Jeremy Zawodny serves as the lead software engineer. 11 OTT 2017 · We are excited to welcome Astronomer Aaron M. Geller to STEM Voices. Aaron is jointly appointed at Northwestern University's Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) and the Adler Planetarium in Chicago.  Dr. Geller studies how stars and planets are born and how they change with time, both through observations and numerical simulations. The focus of his research is the study of gravitational dynamics, and particularly how dynamical encounters between stars influence the evolution of multiple-star systems, planetary systems, and star clusters. He is passionate about sharing research and new discoveries with students and the public.
