24 AGO 2026 · In this episode of Spanish for Job Interviews, we break down how to answer the dreaded strengths-and-weaknesses question in formal Spanish interviews. Many candidates freeze under pressure to sound polished in the usted form while staying honest. We show you a clear structure that keeps responses professional, concise, and tied directly to the job.
You’ll learn to lead with one real strength backed by a short work example, then pivot to a weakness you’ve already improved. Simple phrases like “una de mis fortalezas es” and “estoy trabajando en” help you sound natural instead of scripted. We also cover how to dodge common pitfalls, prepare backup examples for follow-ups, and keep every answer under thirty seconds.
Key takeaways:
- Choose strengths that match the role and prove results with one brief example
- Frame weaknesses honestly but immediately show the fix you applied
- Practice full exchanges out loud three times and record yourself for clarity
- Prepare two backup examples per question to stay consistent under pressure

Key takeaways:
