30 SET 2026 · This week on Sharing Our Stories, we’re honored to welcome Sherry Romero from Colorado as she approaches an incredible milestone, nearly 30 years in recovery.
But Sherry’s story isn’t simply about reaching a number. Nearly three decades of recovery also means nearly three decades of continuing to live life—and life doesn’t stop throwing challenges our way just because we’re in recovery.
Sherry opens up about the struggles she’s faced along the way, the obstacles she’s had to walk through, and how her faith has helped her continue moving forward when life gets difficult.
There is always more to our story after recovery. More life to live. More challenges to overcome. More growth. More faith. And more reasons to keep going.
Join us as we celebrate Sherry Romero, nearly 30 years of recovery, and a story that reminds us that recovery isn’t the end of the journey, it’s the beginning of everything that comes next.

21 SET 2026 · Every now and then we get a special request to do something that isn't in our actual mission statement here at SOS. Our goal is to share stories of addiction and recovery from drugs and alcohol. But we received a special guest sent our way by the name of Rory Atkins. Rory comes to us thru our friend and previous guest Ryan J Schenk. When we prepared to meet with Rory he stated, "I hope its ok, but I wasn't addicted to drugs or alcohol. My addiction was to getting in trouble."
Normally we would stop and say, this is not what we do. But the tone in Rory's voice spoke to us..."Let him speak, he has something important to share." So we said, "Let's sit down and let's do this."
Sometimes the most important thing, is knowing that someone else is going to receive a message from what is being said. Someone else is experiencing this same thing in their life, or in the life of someone they love. And we believe Rory has a lot of people he can influence to make some big changes in their lives with what he has to share.
Welcome Rory Atkins to the studio. To share his story. He shares his terrible mistakes, how he has changed, his continuing amends, where he is now in his life, and his mission to help others in a similar situation see that change is possible. We all here are not who we once were. Tonight we share Rory's story. An Addiction To Getting In Trouble.

NOTE - Hey everyone. Noh-nie wrote this awesome description for me. And I just want to say...she insisted for my 10 year sobriety date that I share. I really did not want to. This program is about the people that come in. But...Noh-nie...my dear friend. Thank you.

7 SET 2026 · Leonard will tell you he was always a tough guy to deal with. Carrying anger, and generally a disgruntled attitude. You would have no idea if you ran into him now. His heart is in helping others who are just where he used to be. He has spent years incarcerated, homeless, struggling and not seeing addiction was a part of what was causing his pain. Sometimes we just don't believe that addiction is the issue. We carry so much else.
And then, somebody cares enough about us, for us to see to care about ourselves. And when we say enough is enough, I'm standing up for my life, I'm taking responsibility for what comes next - I believe a higher power has a plan for me and I'm going to be a part of making that happen...the biggest change comes. And we get our lives BACK! We struggle for so long, until we don't struggle anymore, because yes, we can recover. And then we step in to our purpose, which often times, is being the one to help the next person find their path, and help in the plan for their life. THIS IS LEONARD CHACON!
Join us for his redemption story. Recovery sounds like this.
