Lying seriously injured while trapped under ambulance in an accident on a dirt road started a chain of miracles with God's plan outworking at every point of this experience. From a coffin salesman to a young doctor, a converted Jewish surgeon to a young drug addict and Catholic sisters all were part of His plan. Although at the time I couldn't see them but God's fingerprints were everywhere.

  • My Experience of Living as a Squatter

    20 MAG 2024 · Growing up in a segregated society meant that I had no idea what of what the Black experience of South Africa was like. Segregation meant that black people had to get permission and possess a passport with a visa to work and live in the White areas of South Africa, their own country. It was a wake up call when I spent my first night in a squatter camp called Crossroads on the outskirts of Cape Town which caused me to abandon living in a white area. I had discovered a new world that brought me great joy.

Nico Kleynhans has led an uncommon life. Growing  up as a white man during apartheid in a small town in a staunch, conservative Christian family and community he faced many obstacles. Despite uncles who were wardens on Robben Island he fought to overturn the apartheid regime. He was arrested and detained as a political prisoner on numerous occasions while receiving many death threats and faced imminent death by lynching. What were the pivotal moments in his journey that led him down this unusual path as a Christian and a social activist? Who were the people he met along the way? Why is he telling his story now, and how is it relevant to the current context?  Nico answers these and many other questions about his journey on a path to equality for all.to.
