11 SET 2019 · Dear friend,
I firmly believe that we all work better when we work together.
Please join me and at the County’s first Community Summit on Homelessness on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.
The free Summit will be from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Fiesta Hall. We will be providing light snacks and beverages in the morning followed by a box lunch. We encourage you to eat breakfast before arriving. Parking will also be free at the fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road, San Jose, 95111.
Through roundtable discussions led by trained facilitators, the Summit’s goal is to bring a diverse group of participants to share experiences, enhance participants’ knowledge, and discuss ideas about how to address homelessness and provide housing for the unhoused in our communities. We are inviting to the table homeless individuals, recently housed individuals, affordable housing and homeless advocates, community and neighborhood leaders, service providers, public health representatives, educators, government representatives, law enforcement and others. It is only by sharing differing viewpoints in a civil environment that we can create solutions and engage community involvement to face the crisis that we see every day on our streets and in our neighborhoods.
Please RSVP as soon as possible by visiting the Community Summit on Homelessness page on the District 3 website. Seating is limited. Registered seats are on a first come, first served basis. Some standing room is also available. However, if we reach maximum capacity, we will place your name on a wait list. And if you are unable to make this year’s summit, please complete this survey link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7QY2LR9 to hear your opinions because your voice matters.
For questions, please call my office at 408-299-5030 or email Janice Rombeck Janice.Rombeck@bos.sccgov.org or Enrique Flores at enrique.flores01@bos.sccgov.org.
Thank you,
Dave Cortese
