The first play in the series is Safar, written & directed by Pervaiz Alam. Safar was first staged in 2003 at the Watermans Arts Centre, London, followed by further stage shows in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leicester and Westend's (London) prestigious theatre, Linbury studio.
'Safar' (The Journey) is a tale of an exodus from imaginary homelands and of perpetual, irrepressible longing for such paradises lost, involving the partition of India in 1947.
Safar, based on two episodes, features three of the the UK-based actors, Hina Baxi, Krishna Kant Tandon and Pervaiz Alam.

21 OTT 2020 · Vishal, the protagonist from Delhi's Patel Nagar, has now settled down in London. Vishal's father and grandfather had to migrate from Bhera Sargodha in the aftermath of India's partition in 1947. Vishal's closest friend Tariq, now happily settled in London, is originally from Lahore. Ironically, Vishal despite being friends with Tariq is not at ease with Pakistanis.
Torn between love and hate is Vishal’s girlfriend, Seema from Benares, another migrant to London, happily at ease with her adopted homeland. This is the concluding part of Safar.
