30 GEN 2022 · For our first wildcard episode of 2022, Ashley explores the historic mystery of the Man in the Iron Mask. While there have been many theories over the last 350+ years, could it be that the real question that can finally crack this case is what was his “crime,” rather than what was his name? How was he connected to Nicolas Fouquet? And what could any of this have to do with the diamonds pawned by Queen Henrietta Maria of England? You can decide for yourself if the real story is more or less salacious than the wild secret twin brother theory from the Leo DiCaprio film, but no matter how you slice it, this tale and all of its drama are very, very French.
