My name is Paige, and I am an Artist, Creative Coach, Virtual Educator, and Community Builder. This podcast is a place where I can share my personal experiences as an ARTrepreneur. I promise to share all of the magical and sparkly moments that go along with owning your own creative business, as well as all of the challenging, horrible, scary, and really emotional stuff too! I will be interviewing a variety of small business owners, ARTrepreneurs, and other amazing creatives that will share their inspiring stories, struggles and help us all feel a little less alone in our creative pursuits. 23 OTT 2024 · Paige brings on Nicole Sheehan, a young artist fresh out of Art School. Nicole graduated from the University of Maine and resides on Plum Island, Massachusetts. Nicole shares her experience attending art school and the transition from art school to planet adult.
Nicole chats with Paige about working at Plum Island Soap Company and how working for a small business has helped her learn about the different aspects of running a business, which she applies to marketing her own art. Nicole expresses how it’s challenging to balance painting time with work and her experience exploring and maneuvering the local art scene.

Alex Bass is the founder of Salon 21. Alex has a passion for making art and design more approachable, and she created Salon 21 to bring the spirit of the 18th-century salons to modern-day NYC. Where she hosts exhibitions of contemporary artists, Artist panels, workshops, and cocktail parties. Alex believes that art should be lived with and her space exemplifies this philosophy. She can share insights on curating cultural experiences and spotlighting emerging artists.
Danielle is a painter with roots in photography and new media whose cinematic, textured, and vibrant paintings feature whimsical worlds of fantastical creatures and imagined destinations. Working with oil and acrylic on a large scale, she weaves intricate female-centric narratives within her paintings, which are often tinged with humor and satire. She playfully uses references from theater, film, books, architecture and art history in order to create imaginary worlds that feel familiar and nostalgic to us, while playing on our desire and longing to escape.
Kosann’s paintings are sold in a gallery at the iconic Bergdorf Goodman store in New York City. The exhibition is composed of 18 paintings, 15 of which fit together as an installation to comprise one large scene. The paintings work together to explore the transformative journeys that women undertake, showcasing an imagined world in which women thrive without societal boundaries.

20 AGO 2024 · At the beginning of the episode, Paige shares her rediscovered love for scrapbooking and expresses how much joy she finds in combining scrapbooking, sketching, watercolors, cutting up paper, taking polaroids and creating a creative practice that is a low pressure way to get your ideas and memories on paper. One of her scrapbook pages showcases paintings from her Interoception collection displayed beautifully in a gallery space. This particular show and gallery that represented Paige's work was a complete flop.
Paige shares her experience showing her work in a local gallery and how she made zero painting sales from local gallery representation. Paige expresses the importance of finding a gallery that is excited to share and showcase your work and how both parties - the artist and the gallery need to be crystal clear with expectations. Paige and Katie have a beautiful conversation about experiencing trauma as a young adult and how experiencing uncomfortable things in life can lead to a beautiful and meaningful creative practice. Katie shares with Paige the incredible journey and story behind her incredible new book.
Katie is an internationally collected, full time, independent abstract artist currently based in Bridgeport, CT. She received Bachelors degrees in Studio Art and Psychology from Colby College, as well as a Masters in Teaching Art from Tufts University. She began her fine art career in Boston, while she taught visual art for Boston Public Schools. She began pursuing art full time in 2021 and moved her practice to Connecticut in 2023. Over 250 of her original works are in private and public collections across 50+ cities around the nation and abroad. Katie’s work has been exhibited at international art fairs including Art Basel, and featured in international, local, and fine art publications including Vanity Fair London, and Colby Magazine, and Create! Magazine.
