This podcast describes how Norma Jeane a.k.a Marilyn Monroe struggled with an attachment disorder her whole life. She never knew her father and her mother suffered from schizophrenia so she was passed around among multiple foster homes. Although Marilyn appeared to have it all on the outside, inside she was a young girl longing for a solid attachment. She wanted the feeling of being authentically loved for her true self, (not the celebrity self). Ultimately she died alone. "Never knowing who to cling to when the rain set in."
